Can Undermined Occlusal Enamel Be Supported With Restorative Material?

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Enamel is the hardest mineralized structure in the body designed perfectly by nature to endure the greatest of mechanical, thermal and chemical insults in the oral cavity. Man is yet to make a material similar to it. In addition to its aesthetic qualities, natural healthy enamel is superior to most of the restorative material available. Most of its noble features are undoubtedly related to the underlying `dentin cushion on which it rests. Dentin is a unique biologic tissue, composed of near perfect combination of organic and inorganic constituents, along with fluid components that provides the right cushioning for enamel, the hardest tissue found in the human body. In fact dentin absorbs all the shock from a variety of insults that enamel is subjected to in the oral cavity. Studies have shown that unsupported occlusal enamel could be attached internally to a restorative material via bonding and thus reinforced. This invitro study was designed to test the ability of four restorative materials having chemical or micromechanical bonding to tooth structure, to reinforce undermined occlusal enamel. ····· 1036199073

Microimplants in Orthodontics

····· lezzter Preis 44.10€ ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Anchorage control is an important factor in the successful outcome of any orthodontic treatment. Orthodontic anchorage unit should be resistant to unwanted tooth movement. There have been many attempts to device suitable anchorage methods, including extra oral and intra oral appliances. Extra oral anchorage devices like head gears depends entirely on the patient s cooperation where as intra oral appliances such as TPA, Nance appliances etc are inadequate in controlling the anchorage units. To overcome the limitations of conventional anchorage methods, recent advancement of microimplants (temporary anchorage devices TAD) are been introduced in orthodontic treatment. Advantages of this system includes miniature size, ease of placement and insertion at many intra oral areas,immediate/early loading of force for adequate anchorage support in orthodontic tooth movement. This comprehensive knowledge on microimplants includes evolution of implants, review of literature till today, indications & contraindications, advantages & disadvantages, implant criteria like size, shape, design etc, various clinical applications and in final, complications associated with them in orthodontic treatment. ····· 1036199067

Modified Smear Layer in Conservative dentistry & Endodontics

für 53.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Smear Layer has been a focus of speculation and debate ever since it was first reported.A lot many researchers have advocated its removal but few who support its retention advocate its modification to a structure that is more stable and resistant to microleakage. This book reviews the various agents which can chemically react with the smear layer to alter its structure. This hybridized smear layer is a sterile, inert, non-toxic chemically and mechanically interlocked smear layer.Modified smear layer can prove advantageous in preventing further infection of the root canal dentin by sealing off the dentinal tubules permanently and also reduce microleakage since it is stable enough so as not to disintegrate. This review should be useful for encouraging further research in modifying the smear layer which would in turn prove to be beneficial for the long term success of endodontic therapy and certain restorative procedures. ····· 1036199051

Odontogenic Keratocysts

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Odontogenic keratocysts are common, locally destructive lesions of the head and neck region. They can occur as solitary or multiple lesions, and if multiple, they are mostly associated with Gorlin-Goltz syndrome. This study aims to categorize the odontogenic keratocysts which behave more aggressively, using conventional histopathological techniques. The present study exploits conventional histopathological techniques to gain an insight into the behavior of the odontogenic keratocyst (both solitary and non-syndrome associated multiple odontogenic keratocysts). Thus conventional histopathological techniques can provide valuable information which may be useful to categorize those odontogenic keratocysts that have more aggressive biological behavior and helps in deciding the treatment protocol. ····· 1036198974

Non-surgical endodontic management of the combined endo-perio lesions

····· lezzter Preis 49.00€ ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
The actual relationship between periodontal and pulpal disease was first described by Simring and Goldberg in 1964. Since then, the term `perio-endo` lesion has been used to describe lesions due to inflammatory products found in varying degrees in both the periodontium and the pulpal tissues.Endodontic-periodontal lesions present challenges to the clinician as far as diagnosis and prognosis of the involved teeth are concerned.Treatment and prognosis of endodontic-periodontal diseases vary and depend on the cause and the correct diagnosis of each specific condition. This book presents a review on pathogenesis of endo-perio lesions and their differential diagnosis. It also presents a study on role of non-surgical endodontic treatment as a sole treatment in management of endo-perio lesions. It also emphasizes on importance of long term follow-up in managing of such cases. ····· 1036198827

Periodontal Diagnostic Markers

für 61.20€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Periodontitis is defined as an inflammatory disease of the supporting tissues of the teeth caused by specific microorganisms, resulting in progressive destruction of the periodontal ligament and alveolar bone with pocket formation, recession, or both . Diagnostic Marker can be defined as any biochemical compound such as antigen, antibody, abnormal enzyme, or hormone that is sufficiently altered in a disease to serve as an aid in diagnosis or in predicting susceptibility to the disease. Their findings serve as a basis for treatment planning and provide essential data during periodontal maintenance and disease-monitoring phases of treatment. Thus, we can say that biomarkers, whether produced by normal healthy individuals or by individuals affected by specific systemic diseases, are tell-tale molecules that provides pertinent information for differential diagnosis, localization of disease and severity of infection. Therefore, in this particular literature review, we aim to evaluate the potential diagnostic utility of various biological markers present in oral fluids, such as saliva and GCF and its potential application for the early diagnosis and treatment of periodontal diseases. ····· 1036198773

Frequency Of Unerupted Mandibular Third Molar In Angle Fractures

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Mandible is the commonest of the facial bones to fracture. Fractures of the mandibular angle are common and comprise 31 % of all mandibular fractures. Multiple studies report a 2-3 fold increased risk for mandibular angle fractures when unerupted mandibular third molars are present. It has been hypothesized that angle region of a mandible having an unerupted mandibular third molar has decreased cross-sectional area of bone in that region and root apex of an unerupted mandibular third molar concentrates stress around its apex thus altering the concentration of stress in the mandible. It is a common practice to remove asymptomatic unerupted third molars. But it has been shown in various studies that presence of unerupted mandibular third molar predispose the mandible to angle fracture and its absence to condylar fracture. The treatment of condylar fracture is more challenging and associated with greater number of complications. This study will assess the frequency of unerupted mandibular third molar in mandibular angle fractures in Pakistan. And this will help practitioners to refrain from common practice to remove the asymptomatic unerupted third molars. ····· 1036198736

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Root biomodification is a treatment procedure employed for periodontal regeneration that uses acid substances or chelating agents to remove the smear layer and expose root collagen fibers. Such treatment enlarges dentinal tubules into which healing connective tissue can enter. Various agents have been employed in the past to achieve suitable results. Through this book, the author wants to draw the attention of both dental clinicians as well as patients towards the therapeutic potential of Doxycycline HCl in root biomodification. Doxycycline is believed to enhance maturation and differentiation of osteoblasts. So, its use can prolong the survival of the teeth by enhancing periodontal regeneration in addition to its beneficial effect as an adjunctive therapy to mechanical debridement in the treatment of periodontal disease. ····· 1036192624

Controversy in Fixation of Mandibular Angle Fracture

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
When mandibular fractures are considered, the primary goal of treatment is to achieve stable and functional occlusion with minimum postoperative complications or infections. Mandibular angle fractures owing to their highest postsurgical complication rates require a meticulous management based on sound surgical principles. Even today, the controversy still ranges between the use of single miniplate and two miniplates for the treatment of mandibular angle fracture. However each of these has its own merits and demerits over the other. The present study was thus conducted to compare these two treatment modalities for the treatment of mandibular angle fracture. Through the observations and results of this clinical trial we would like to conclude that single miniplate is a reliable and safe procedure in treating unfavourable mandibular angle fracture. Addition of one more plate at the lower border doesnot offers any additional advantage over single miniplate but increases the postoperative morbidity in terms of pain, trismus and infection. ····· 1036192561

Topical Anesthesia were developed in the later half of the 9th century, it has taken nearly a whole century for effective and safe topical anesthesia to become readily available. The use of topical anesthetic agent before the injection of local anesthetics has become a routine procedure in dentistry. There are a number of different types of topical anesthetic agents for intraoral use available. However the application of these agents on children seems to be more unique especially prior needle insertion, or extraction of shedded primary teeth. It is generally agreed that one of the most important aspects of child behavior guidance is the control of pain. If children experience pain during restorative or surgical procedures, their future as dental patients may be damaged. The present study was conducted to compare the effect of EMLA Cream and Benzocaine gel with Lidocaine gel in reducing injection pain and Extraction of shedded primary teeth. ····· 1036192518

The Periodontium is defined as a connective tissue organ, protected by epithelium, that attaches the teeth to the bone of the jaws and provides a continually adapting apparatus for their support during function. The four connective tissues of the periodontium are the lamina propria of the gingiva, the periodontal ligament, the cementum and the alveolar bone. Periodontal therapy involves two primary components Removal of bacterial plaque and calculus, and of the anatomic defects produced. There are two primary approaches to eliminate these defects: Resective and Regenerative, both surgical. Regenerative Surgery seeks to eliminate periodontal defects by creating new bone and periodontal ligament and coronally displacing the gingival attachment and margin. The method for the prevention of epithelial migration along the cemental wall of the pocket that has gained wide attention is called Guided Tissue Regeneration. It consists of placing barrier membranes of different types to cover the bone and periodontal ligament. ····· 1036192124
