····· 1036173712
····· lezzter Preis 61.20€ ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray Traumatic dental injuries present difficult problems for both patients and their dentists. Current evidence allows the dental health care provider to manage situations that, in the past, often resulted in crippled dentition and unsightly appearance. Appropriate treatment can turn what at first glance looks like a hopeless situation into a very satisfactory outcome for patients. Most dental injuries involve damage to one or two teeth. However, often multiple teeth are injured and injuries are associated with soft tissue and alveolar fractures. In these cases, treatment must be prioritized and preference given to injuries for which time is important in determining long-term prognosis. Dental traumatology has progressed in recent years to improve the understanding of the biological considerations involved in both diagnosis and treatment principles. Through public awareness efforts, people now are more knowledgeable about dental trauma (e.g. knowing to put an avulsed tooth in milk). Research explores new approaches (e.g. laser doppler flowmeter for pulpal evaluation) and materials (e.g. Emdogains). The future has promise for even more successful management of traumatic dental injuries. ····· 1036125975

Recent discoveries have dramatically increased our understanding of the most basic mechanisms controlling normal cell growth, and have also greatly enhanced our ability to investigate the nature of the biological processes that lead to cancer. Mathematical models predict that 8 10 individual genetic aberrations are required for progression to head and neck cancer alongwith hundreds of genetic aberrations, the vast majority unrelated to their pathogenesis. The challenge for modern genetic analysis is to differentiate consequential genetic aberrations from the background events. However, this explosion of information on cancer-specific chromosomal aberrations can be utilized by the scientific community only if compiled in easily accessible databases. ····· 1036125973

Consideration of facial type plays an important role in formulation of an orthodontic treatment plan and prognosis of treatment. Of particular importance is vertical relationship, that is, whether an individual is long faced or short faced.A relationship may exist between the structure of the frontal part of the maxilla and mandible and the lower face height, such that, in case with an open bite or deep bite, the vertical dentoalveolar development may be inappropriate to compensate for the large or small distance between the jaws.Investigating the relationship between the amount of overbite and the maxillary & mandibular morphology is of atmost importance in treating individuals with short or long face. ····· 1036125884

It affects children as early as 6 months of age and often carries itself throughout the life of an individual. Compounding to the existing problem of high incidence of caries, there are very few dental professionals in India, those too unequally distributed (dentist to population ratio: 1:100000 in rural areas and 1:35000 in urban areas). Moreover, they cater primarily to curative and restorative needs rather than preventive needs of population. The plight of story is further strengthened by the fact that there is no comprehensive oral health programme or policy in India. The book focuses on feasibility of oral health training of community health workers (anganwadi workers)in improving the oral health status of preschool children in a Northern City of India. It also highlights the importance of including Snyder test (a caries activity test) in field settings which requires minimum laboratory facilities is easy to perform, read and interpret is cost effective and does not require strict cold chain conditions. ····· 1036125465

The introduction and use of acrylic resin as a denture base material since 1937 has revolutionized the dentistry in a big way. Since then no other material has been found that matches the appearance of the oral soft tissues with as great fidelity as acrylic resin. Heat cured acrylic resins are the most commonly used materials for denture base processing. It has fine esthetic properties, excellent color stability and can be used with a simple technique for the construction of dentures. Inspite of having all these advantages, dimensional inaccuracies have been a critical component in assessing in vivo performances of these materials. These changes have profound effect on Complete Denture Occlusion. Even minor changes can lead to severe discrepancies. Dimensional inaccuracies is still a major challenge for the Prosthodontist which need to be corrected for better results. Records of patients who were either treated in the emergency room as outpatients or in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as inpatients were analyzed and were subjected to statistical analysis using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) for Windows version 17.0. Data was summarized in form of proportions and frequency tables for categorical variables and was subjected to Chi-Square test. Out of 689 patients, 75.9% were male and 24.1% were female. 42.5% of the patients were in the age group of 21 to 30 years. Road traffic accidents accounted for the majority (74.3%) of cases of maxillofacial trauma. Mandible was seen as the most commonly fractured bone (50.3%) and 53.8% head and neck injuries were most common among the associated injuries. These tumors demonstrate varying inductive interactions between odontogenic epithelium and odontogenic ectomesenchyme of which extracellular matrix (ECM) plays an important role. Tenascin, a large glycoprotein component of ECM is involved in cell-to-cell and cell-ECM interactions.
