It appeared that the suspects intended to lure people into the street to block the pursuing police cars, said Andrew Smith, a Police Department spokesman.\n\n"A lot of people came out their houses, they saw this on TV, they saw that money was being thrown," Smith told NBC 4.\n\nThe chase screeched to a halt when traffic blocked the suspects about 80 minutes into the chase in South Los Angeles, reported NBC 7.\n\nA pickup truck emerged from a side street and blocked their path. It is unknown if the driver did this intentionally to thwart the suspects, reports The Associated Press.\n\nOfficers arrested the suspects before a large crowd of several hundred people — a dangerous moment for the spectators because the suspects were armed.\n\nNo injured have been reported concerning the robbery. One officer's foot was run over during the incident but he is expected to recover.\n\nAuthorities are still searching for two men who escaped from the black Volvo SUV, while it was on the 210 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley, according to Capt. The pursuit began when Bloomfield Police Officers were dispatched to a fight in the City of Bloomfield. When they arrived suspects fled in a vehicle and fired at the officers. A pursuit followed. The pursuit went into San Juan County and then onto the Navajo Reservation where deputies successfully executed a pit maneuver stopping the suspect vehicle. Immediately upon stopping the driver of the vehicle began shooting at Sgt. Kory Faulk. Deputies returned fire and the suspect was hit numerous times. Sgt. Faulk was shot in the face.\n\nBoth Sgt. Faulk and the suspect have since been released from the hospital. The suspect is in jail and Sgt. Faulk has returned to full duty.\n\nNumerous media requests have been made for a copy of the in-car camera video. The Federal Bureau of Investigations is conducting an investigation into the portion of the incident that occurred on the Navajo Reservation. At the request of the United States Attorney's Office the shooting and all other events that happened on the reservation are not being released until a later date.\n\nAttached you will find video from the initial Sherfiff's pursuit vehicle. The video stops when the pursuit enters the Navajo Reservation.
