Die bei uns in den Bibliotheken und auf dem Büchermarkt verfügbaren Abhandlungen zu Stalin und zur Sowjetunion sind, von ganz wenigen Ausnahmen abgesehen, ideologisch eingefärbt und folgen fast ausschließlich dem staatlich verordneten Anti-Stalin-Paradigma, das vor allem seit Beginn der fünfziger Jahre fester Bestandteil der herrschenden bürgerlichen Ideologie im Westen wurde. Seitdem sind fast durchweg Bücher zu Stalin erschienen, die mit dem wahren Stalin, mit seinen Intentionen und seiner Arbeit als bolschewistischer Revolutionär in Russland und später in der Sowjetunion nichts gemein haben, die darauf abzielen ihn zu dämonisieren und als `Massenmörder` oder als `brutalen Diktator` zu diffamieren. Das Buch soll auf der Basis gesicherter Fakten, Entwicklungen und Zusammenhänge ein ganz anderes Bild von Stalin vermitteln, das seinen Intentionen, seiner Tätigkeit als bolschewistischer Revolutionär in der vorrevolutionären Zeit in Georgien und Russland sowie seiner jahrzehntelangen Arbeit an der Spitze des ersten sozialistischen Staates, dem der UdSSR, gerecht wird. Im Detail wird nachgewiesen, dass Stalin sein Land gewaltig nach vorne brachte, aus einem rückständigen bäuerlich geprägten halb-barbarischen Land namens Russland eine moderne sozialistische Großmacht schuf, die international über großes Ansehen verfügte und den Lebensstandard und die Lebensqualität der sowjetischen Bevölkerung in nie gekanntem Maße anhob und einen wichtigen Beitrag für den internationalen Frieden und für die Zerschlagung des Faschismus leistete - vor allem während des Zweiten Weltkrieges. All diese Errungenschaften werden in den landläufigen Stalin-Biografien verschwiegen oder einseitig darsgestellt, die sich hauptsächlich mit dem Großen Terror oder mit der sog. Zwangskollektivierung beschäftigen, die angeblich Millionen Menschen dahinraffte. Auf Ursachen und Zusammenhänge wird so gut wie nie eingegangen. Man bedient sich des Personenkultes um Stalin, um alle Schuld für Missstände und Fehlentwicklungen auf eine Person, auf Stalin, abzuschieben, ohne dabei zu bedenken, dass der Personenkult von Stalins Gegnern geschaffen wurde und Stalin selbst über weit weniger Macht verfügte als zum Beispiel der sowjetische Präsident Michail Gorbatschow später, den man nie als Diktator bezeichnet. Wichtige Zusammenhänge, die ständigen Interventionen des imperialistischen Auslands in die Angelegenheiten der Sowjetunion, aber vor allem der damals bei Aufbau des Sozialismus wirkenden Klassenkampf zwischen den beiden verfeindeten Hauptklassen Proletariat und Bourgeoisie wird in so gut wie allen Fällen von unseren bürgerlichen Geschichtswissenschaftlern verschwiegen, und für die Opfer dieses Machtkampfes um die Sicherung der Staatsmacht oder den Aufbau eines sozialistischen Wirtschaftssystems wird in aller Regel allein Stalin verantwortlich gemacht. Both questionnaire and interview protocol were used for data gathering. One hundred and six people in the area were conveniently sampled to become respondents in the study.
