The PET bottles and the tyres."\n\nOne of the recyclers said, "I was impressed that is why I contributed more bottles. I saw what she did and decided to give more support."\n\nThe initiative was supported by the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK).\n\n---\n\nSOT, Temitope Okunno, Activist: "We need everybody to feel happy, to feel the spirit of Christmas and in doing this we have also decided to use the waste materials we find around us. The PET bottles and the tyres."\n\nSOT, Temitope Okunno, Environmentalist: "We eventually contacted some recyclers through some friends who were able to help us deliberately and intentionally sort out green PET bottles from loads of PET bottles that they were supposed to (inaudible) together. So we were able to get the loose green PET bottles to build the ecotrees."\n\nSOT, Zainab Koguna, Recycler: "Just like Ms. Okunno, I was impressed that is why I contributed more bottles.
