Plants treated with higher dose of nutrients exhibited better growth in terms of plant height, dry matter production and leaf area index compared to lower dose. Similarly at higher dose of N the total phenol content of the fruits was significantly reduced. From the studies on the uptake of major nutrients, it was found that the increased uptake of nitrogen had a strong positive influence on increasing the fruit yield.
