Previously mechanical units are used on the dashboard to measure the performance of the vehicle and it has been improved to electromechanical units. In this thesis, fully electronic driver information system with CAN communication is designed. It uses many technologies fusing display, multiplexing, CAN protocol and I2C protocol. This project deals with development of the ECU signals which are required by driver for the assistance. A testing module is developed based on the ECU signals and this module communicates with display module through CAN communication. The display used for the project is the SSFLC graphical LCD which gives good viewing angle, fast response, high contrast, high memory and low power consumption.
