\nThree of the most important generals of this battle have gathered here. George S. Patton, Omar Bradley and Bernard Montgomery. Omar Bradley, at this point in time, was a Lieutenant General, as indicated by the 3 stars on his uniform. However, in 1950 he would be promoted to the rank of General of the Army, a 5 star general, which is a rank only 4 other American generals achieved before him. Bernard Montgomery held the title of a 5 star general as well, but in the British Army there already had been more than a hundred men who have been granted this title. George S. Patton was a Lieutenant General as well, just like Bradley, and he also did get a promotion, but only to a 4 star general.
