Follow us on Telegram: \nhttps://t.me/s/ruptlynews\n\nSubscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe\n\nHundreds of protesters gathered in Baghdad's Firdos Square on Friday to oppose the removal of a billboard depicting Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, an Iraqi commander of the Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) who was killed by a US drone strike last year. \n\nProtesters could be seen showing pictures of al-Muhandis and Qasem Soleimani, the former commander of the elite Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps who was assassinated by the same airstrike on January 3 2020. \n\nSupporters of Iraq's pro-Iranian parties rallied amid rumours that the government decided to remove the billboard from Firdos Square.
