Growing environmental awareness has resulted in a renewed interest in the use of natural material for many applications. This paradigm has forced industries like automotive, packaging and construction to search for new materials to make the conventional composite materials be a environmentally friendly material. In this work an attempt is made to highlight the potential use of sugar palm (Arenga pinnata) fiber in reinforcing polymer composites. The aims of this work is to determine the mechanical properties of sugar palm fiber reinforced epoxy polymer composites. The fiber was treated by alkali solution with certain concentration and during several soaking time.
