Validation of a Selection and Classification Model

A two-tier model is therefore used to determine who gets a coveted place in any given year. It was in this background that the efficiency in this selection process was investigated. This study utilised correlations and multiple regression to validate the simultaneous selection and classification processes undertaken by the universities Joint Admissions Board. Results of this study suggest that additional non-academic measures could be used to refine the selection process. Universities need to improve record keeping for use in similar validative studies.
