Doch wie empfinden wir bei dem Gedanken, Widerstand in der Familie, Verfolgung seitens des Staates oder Druck von Arbeitskollegen oder Mitschülern zu erleben? Solche Vorstellungen können einem verständlicherweise Angst machen. Wenn man verfolgt wird, ist das normalerweise kein Grund, sich zu freuen. Doch genau dazu fordert uns die Bibel auf. Zum Beispiel schrieb Jakobus, dass wir Prüfungen als Grund zur Freude ansehen sollten, statt uns von ihnen überwältigt zu fühlen (Jak. 1:2, 12). Und Jesus sagte, wir sollten sogar dann glücklich sein, wenn man uns verfolgt (Mat. 5:11).
