····· 10361148933

On Generalized Uncertainty Principle

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
The present research explores the role of generalized uncertainty inequalities in the theory of quantum gravity. Motivated from the noncommutative nature of string theory, we show that there exists an ultraviolet/ infrared mixing dependent function. From the perspective of higher derivative stringy corrections, the uncertainty principle arises as the analyticity condition of a complex function. For a given ultraviolet cutoff, this observation non-trivially modifies the algebra of quantum observables. With the postulate that Planck length is the minimal length scale in nature, our analysis is in accordance with T-duality symmetry and the existence of both the maximum and minimum length scales. Given a finite size universe, we find that the uncertainty inequalities do exist in any quantum theory. Both the Regge behavior of string spectrum and the black hole horizon area quantization are natural consequences. The role of the generalized uncertainty principle is discussed towards the effects of quantum gravity, short distance geometries, Fourier transformation, distribution theory, discretization of spacetime and thus the perspective for the geometric origin of M-theory. ····· 10361147232

The nandevice using individual nanowire (NW) is fabricated by e-beam lithography process. This process includes plasma ashing, evaporation of metal electrodes, and thermal rapid annealing. With the final product nanodevice, the change of resistance depending on the external magnetic field and temperature is measured. In this manuscript, single crystalline NWs used for measurement of physical properties are as followed: CoSi, Fe1-xCoxSi, InN, Fe5Si3, Co2Si, V5Si3. CoSi NWs show the negagive magnetoresistance (MR) due to reduction of scattering between electrons influenced by magnetic field and free electrons, which is typically observed in ferromagnets. Fe1-xCoxSi NWs show the unconventional magnetotransport properties. Despite ferromagnet itself, positive MR is observed, might arisen from quantum interference effect. Furthermore, the angle dependent resistance is observed, which is relative with spin-down electron transport. InN NWs show the different transport mechnism depending on the temperature. Co2Si NWs show the negative MR under Curie temperature and V5Si3 NWs show ultralow resistance and high current failure. These results are expected to application in future nanodevices. ····· 10361147087

Modern radiation delivery technique aims at precise delivery of radiation dose like Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy, 3D Conformal Radiotherapy and Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy are commonly using now a days. These techniques are based on increased complexity of radiation delivery methods and therefore necessitate verification of computer calculated dose distribution by an accurate dosimetric method. Gel dosimeters absorb dose in a tissue-equivalent manner and capable of recording dose distributions 3 dimensionally. An Optical CT (OCT) scanner plays a major role for Gel dosimeter readout and in clinical radiation therapy as a 3-Dimensional Radiation Dosimetry. ····· 10361146917

Effects of ordering in III V semiconductor alloy systems

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
This work provides and highlights the effects of microscopic ordering on the properties of semiconductor alloys. It brings us one step closer in understanding the fundamental ground that influences the properties of semiconductor alloys. For the alloy studied, i.e. AlGaAs, GaInP, BGaP, and AlGaInP, our results can serve as a guide for theoreticians, experimentalists, and device engineers to focus on the microscopic structures that are predicted to give their desired properties. This work will draw attentions to the fact that properties of semiconductor alloys can be adjusted by controlling the atomic ordering in addition to the alloy composition. This opens up a new way to control semiconductor properties, such as bandgap and electron effective mass. This work also helps to gain better understanding in the relationship between atomic arrangements in alloys and the observable properties. ····· 10361146807

Role of (n, xn) reactions

High order (n, xn), (n, xnyp), (p, xn) and (p, xnyp) reactions which do not play major role in conventional reactors because of their high threshold energy, may be important in hybrid systems like A.D.S. Study of these reaction is important for a wide range of applications like transmutation of long lived nuclear waste, high energy neutron spectrometry, validation of nuclear model codes, extension of the existing fuel cycles. In this book, an attempt has been made to understand the impact of various reactions channels which have definite probability of occurrence in the high energy neutron environment. The main emphasis is put on (n, xnyp) type reaction channels and it is concluded that they have a significant role in nuclear energy systems like an A.D.S. and it is established that scenario of neutron multiplication factor and energy gain is very different in case of spallation neutrons with and without consideration of (n, xn) and (n, xnyp) reactions. At the same time measurements of high order (n, xn) reactions are highly desirable particularly when we intend to make use of fertile fuels like Thorium for the energy production. ····· 10361146633

Giant resonances are highly collective states of nuclear vibration. The compressional-mode giant resonances provide the only direct experimental measurement of the nuclear incompressibility, a fundamental property of nuclear matter that is crucial to understanding of a number of nuclear and astrophysical phenomena, including strength of collapse in supernovae explosions, collective-flow in high-energy heavy ion collisions, and properties of neutron stars the largest nuclei that exist in nature. Prof. Garg s group has been investigating the Isoscalar Giant Dipole Resonance, an exotic compressional-oscillation, also referred to as the squeezing mode . Dr. Tao li designed a sophisticated experiment to measure the giant resonances of Sn even isotopes between 112 and 124. The experiment is performed at RCNP, Osaka, Japan, in which a high resolution `Grand Raiden` is capable to take such high resolution measurement. Some computational methods, and programming code was developed by Dr. Li to analyze the data. The result gives us the better understanding to the nuclear impressionability, which is a ground stone of the nuclei. ····· 10361146585

Cooperative Phenomena in Strongly Correlated Systems

für 61.20€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
In this book we present results of our theoretical study of cooperative phenomena in strongly correlated electron systems obtained within various generalizations of the Falicov-Kimball model. The primary goal of this study was to identify crucial interactions that lead to the stabilization of the specific cooperative phenomenon, and then try to elaborate its comprehensive microscopic description. The main attention is devoted to a discussion of valence and metal-insulator transitions, formation of charge and spin ordering, electronic ferroelectricity, itinerant ferromagmetism and mechanisms leading to their stabilization. Among the major mechanisms we examine the effect of local and nonlocal Coulomb interaction between localized and itinerant electrons, local and nonlocal hybridization, long-range and correlated hopping of itinerant electrons and spin-dependent interaction between localized and itinerant electrons, both for zero and nonzero temperatures, as well as for doped and undoped systems. Finally, the relevance of resultant solutions for a description of rare-earth and transition-metal compounds is discussed. ····· 10361146581

Bulk and Shear Viscosity in the Early Universe Cosmology

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
We consider the evolution of a flat, isotropic and homogeneous Friedmann-Lemaitre-Robertson-Walker Universe, filled with a causal bulk viscous cosmological fluid, that can be characterized by an ultra-relativistic equation of state, and bulk viscosity coefficient obtained from recent lattice Quantum Chromodynamics calculations. The basic equation for the Hubble parameter is derived under the assumption that the total energy in the Universe is conserved. By assuming a power law dependence of bulk viscosity coefficient, temperature and relaxation time on energy density, an approximate solution of the field equations has been obtained, in which we utilized equations of state from recent lattice Quantum Chromodynamics simulations and heavy-ion collisions to derive an evolution equation. In viscous cosmology, there is no evidence for singularity. For example, both Hubble parameter and scale factor have a finite value at time equal to zero. To avoid any controversial argumentation about the validity of the equations of states and the above conclusions, we restrict the discussion at the QCD era. ····· 10361146466

Magnetocaloric effect in certain rare earth-transition materials

für 71.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
This book presents the results on magnetic, magneto-thermal and magneto-transport studies in some rare earth-based intermetallic compounds. The main aim of the present work was to investigate the magnetocaloric effect (MCE) and magnetoresistance (MR) in some intermetallics system, which have not received much attention. This was done by understanding the magnetic, magneto-thermal and magneto-transport behavior of these materials. With the objective of identifying some practical magnetic refrigerant materials, emphasis was given on systems showing first order magnetic transition, multiple transitions, metamagnetism etc. A giant magnetocaloric effect is expected in such systems. From the fundamental side, the aim was to understand the correlation among the magnetic, magnetocaloric and magneto-transport properties of these compounds. The thesis presents the work carried out on the magnetic, magnetocaloric and magnetoresistance behavior of the ternary compounds R1-xR`xMn2Si2-yGey[R,R`=RARE EARTH] and R2Ni2Sn [R=Ce, Nd, Sm, Gd and Tb] and pseudo binary compounds R2Al [R= Nd, Sm, Gd and Tb]. ····· 10361146394

Quantum Antiferromagnetism: Magnetic Order and Lattice Instabilities

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Although its long history, the mystery of ferromagnetism was revealed in the last century only, with the birth of quantum mechanics and the introduction of the spin. Besides the phenomena of magnetic ordering, strong correlations in condensed matter systems have other spectacular consequences, high temperature superconductivity above all. The theory of the origin of magnetic interactions remains one of the less developed areas of solid state physics, where large efforts, both in experiments and theory, concentrate. This book is mainly devoted to the investigation of two low-dimensional spin systems with spin-lattice coupling. In the former part, we focus on the role of coupling between spins and adiabatic phonons and of competitive interactions in stabilizing magnetization plateaus in antiferromagnetic Heisenberg models on square lattice. In the second part of the dissertation our attention moves to antiferromagnetic molecular rings, where a microscopic theory of magnetoelastic coupling is developed in order to interpret some unconventional features in experimental measurements. ····· 10361146370
