From laymen to scientists, caves assume different meanings according to the historical and cultural conditions of a particular society. Therefore, one can say that the human relationship with caves is not really new in the history of mankind. Neither is new the motivation for their use as shelters, safe houses and sacred places. Thus caves and karst are important historical and geographic records of specific regions. They often present common features of various cultures as shown throughout this work. This book, based on the author`s doctoral dissertation, is intended to portrait karst landscapes and caves by showing their relation to cultural and religious tourism, based on an extensive bibliographical review and field visits combining physical and human studies. ····· 1036188756

für 71.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray Since the 1960s the economic geography literature has witnessed the development of two mainstream approaches in explaining the notion of supplier customer relationships (SCRs). These are the traditional and contemporary approaches which have emerged under the umbrella of Dualism and Post-Fordism, respectively. Briefly, Post-Fordists point to the replacement of traditional subcontracting relationships by collaborative partnership relations and draw attention to the role of physical proximity in contemporary SCRs. In contrast, dualists contend that extensive collaboration in supply chains and the spatial outcomes of this debate are exaggerated. These different views highlight the fact that we do not fully know about the structure of SCRs. In this context the Turkish automotive industry provides a very good laboratory to examine SCRs as recently there has been a great deal of activity in this sector in terms of interfirm relations. Accordingly, this book investigates the organisational and spatial structure of SCRs in this sector by focusing on two European automotive manufacturer s local sourcing activities in Turkey. ····· 1036188366

This study is aimed at quantifying the actual rates of bank erosion along the river based on time series analysis of satellite images and historical maps. One of the main problem of the braided Brahmaputra-Jamuna River in Bangladesh is bank erosion, in places leading to hundreds of meters of bank retreat annually. Analysis of the Landsat images shows that, over the whole river, riverine islands most often persist from 1 to 7 years, but 30% have lasted for 14 years or more. Accretion has taken place in the middle and lower reaches north of the east bank and in the extreme north of the west bank between 1973 and 2010. Bangladesh is likely to be among the countries that are the worst affected by climate change. The Government of Bangladesh is acutely conscious of this, and has in fact been preparing to face this challenge for several years now.
