For growth of bulk crystals of La:KDP, accelerated seed rotation method was employed and rotated on both direction using a stepper motor driven by microcontroller. UV-Vis spectra show excellent transmission through the visible region up to 1100 nm. Laser damage threshold values were determined using Q-switched Nd:YAG laser operating at 1064 nm and with 25 ns pulses in single shot mode. The powder SHG efficiency was better than materials like KDP and CTA.
