By doing so it searches for an alternative to the medieval ordo (respublica christiana) and sows the seeds for the coming secularized order of Europe and the future birth of the international law. On the one hand it is an alliance for the purpose of combating the Turks, while on the other hand it serves as the foundation for the league of peace whose structure of inter-european relations relies on an oath created corporation.
