Dem Mexikaner Carlos Torre verdanken wir den Torre-Angriff, markiert durch die Anfangszüge 1. d4, 2. Sf3 und 3. Lg5. Im Zuge der immer mehr ausufernden Theorie der Hauptabspiele nach 1.d4 im Verbund mit c2-c4 gewannen in der letzten Dekade solide Systeme an Popularität zurück, die vergleichsweise wenig konkrete Variantenkenntnis erfordern und mehr auf dem Verständnis der grundlegenden Pläne beruhen. Neben dem Londoner System feierte so auch der Torre-Angriff eine Renaissance! Hat man beides im Repertoire, kann einen kein Schwarzspieler, sei er nun Anhänger von Königsindisch, Grünfeld oder klassischer Aufstellungen mit e7-e6 bzw. d5 (hier empfehle ich Lf4, siehe meine DVD zum Londoner System), aus dem Konzept bringen - sämtliche Erwiderungen sind abgedeckt!
