Im vierten Abschnitt führt Smart seine geliebte Katze als Beispiel für die Natur an, die Gott dadurch preist, dass sie einfach das ist, was der Schöpfer ihr zugedacht hat. Der gleiche Gedanke wird im fünften Abschnitt mit dem Beispiel der Maus fortgeführt. Der sechste Abschnitt spricht von den Blumen - `der Poesie Christi`. Im siebten Abschnitt nimmt Smart Bezug auf seine Probleme und sein Leiden, aber selbst diese sind Gelegenheiten zur Lobpreisung Gottes, denn durch Christus wird er seine Erlösung finden.
