Die vorgelegte Dissertation beschäftigt sich mit der Analyse sogenannte algebraische Mehr- gitterverfahren (AMG) mit F-Gättung, die zum Lösen lineare Gleichungssysteme verwendet werden können. Die ersten Idee zu Mehrgitterverfahren stammen von von Fedorenko (1964) und Bakhvalov (1966), die ersten algebraischen Varianten wurden von Brand, McCormick, Ru- ge und Stüben (1982/1987) entwickelt. Mitlerweile zählen algebraische Mehrgitterverfahren zu den effektivsten iterativen Verfahren zum Lösen großer linearer Gleichunssystem der heutigen Zeit.
