Science of Dental Implants

für 53.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
The delivery of care for patients missing one or all of their teeth very often requires implants to restore function, esthetics, hard and soft tissue contours, speech, and intraoral health. The delayed occlusal loading protocol, either 1- or 2-stage approach, has been evaluated for more than 30 years by a number of clinical settings and situations. However, in some patient conditions, the delayed healing process can cause psychological, social, and/or functional problems. A full range of treatment options relative to the initial hard and soft tissue healing is available. Immediate restoration of a patient after implant surgery is one of these alternatives. A benefit/risk ratio must be assessed for each patient condition to ascertain whether immediate occlusal loading is a worthwhile alternative. The greater the benefit and/or the lower the risk, the more likely immediate loading is to be considered. Present book is a very useful tool for the students, practitioners ,academicians and all those who are concerned with dental implants as the best choice for a missing dentition. ····· 10361114953

ANALYSIS OF CORONAL DISCOLORATION FROM COMMON OBTURATION MATERIALS

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
A major cause of coronal tooth discoloration may be attributed to remnants of obturation materials left in the pulp chamber following root canal therapy. Endodontic materials that contain certain compounds such as eugenol, phenol, and silver additives may lead to colour changes in coronal tooth structure when they come in contact with dentine. The degree of staining in such cases varies according to the material used and is usually challenging to manage. Several studies evaluated the discoloration potential of sealers and the changes over a period of time. Most of the previous studies used digital imaging as a method of colour measurement, and focused on limited products only. The objective of this study was to assess coronal discoloration due to four commonly used endodontic sealers with gutta- percha, using spectrophotometric analysis. ····· 10361114771

BOND STRENGTH OF PORCELAIN TO METAL UNDER DIFFERENT FIRING ATMOSPHERES

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Evaluation of porcelain-metal bond has been a subject of immense interest in the recent past and studies have proved that the optimal temperature and the atmosphere in which the porcelain is baked on to metal surface is of critical value. Several studies in past have been carried out to evaluate the porcelain metal bonds. These studies evaluate the bonding of porcelain with metal, compatibility of metal ceramic system, testing and thermomechanical compatibility and stresses in porcelain metal system. But, occasional chipping of porcelain from metal surface in PFM restoration have been the persistent problem till now.For Porcelain-fused to metal (PFM) restoration to be clinically successful, it must satisfy certain criterias. Vacuum firing of porcelain has yielded favourable results. This led to the thought that an inert atmosphere would produce better ceramo-metal bonding and because of this, firing of porcelain in an atmosphere of argon gas has evinced great interest, it seems pertinent to evaluate the bond strength of porcelain to non-precious metal copings under different firing atmospheres (vacuum & inert). ····· 10361114343

Vaccines - Dental Caries

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Streptococcus mutans has been identified as the major etiological agent of dental caries. The evidence of a specific bacterial cause of dental caries and of the function of the salivary glands as an effector site of the mucosal immune system has provided a scientific basis for the development of a vaccine against this highly prevalent and costly oral disease. Research efforts towards developing an effective and safe caries vaccine have been facilitated by progress in molecular biology, with the cloning and functional characterization of virulence factors from mutans streptococci, the principal causative agent of dental caries. Immunization when infants are about one year old may establish effective immunity against an ensuing colonization attempts by mutans streptococci. The present review critically evaluates recent progress in this field of dental research and attempts to stress the protective potential as well as limitations of caries immunization. ····· 10361114214

By clinical oral examination, some of the physical and biochemical analysis of human unstimulated whole saliva have been studied with their effects on the retention of acrylic denture base. The following parameters were studied: flow rate, pH, total protein, density, surface tension, viscosity and film thickness. Total protein concentration was found to be responsible for physical and chemical changes specially viscosity. There was a direct positive correlation between total protein and surface tension, viscosity, density and film thickness, while there was a negative correlation between total protein and with flow rate and pH. The results indicated that in both the first and the third groups, the physical and mathematic analysis for retention showed non significant changes while in the second group showed significant changes. The results in all groups showed that there was a positive correlation between force and wetted area and this force was due to wettability and not to water sorption. ····· 10361114017

COMMON CAUSES OF FAILURE AND THEIR CORRECTION IN FIXED PROSTHODONTICS

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Fixed prosthodontics is the art and science of restoring damaged teeth with cast metal, metal- ceramic, or all-ceramic restorations, and of replacing missing teeth with fixed prostheses1. Fixed prosthodontics can offer exceptional satisfaction for both patient and dentist. It can transform an unhealthy, unattractive dentition with poor function into a comfortable, healthy occlusion capable of years of further service while greatly enhancing esthetics. Fixed prosthodontic failures can be frustrating and complex in terms of both diagnosis and treatment. The dental literature is replete with problems and failures related to traditional fixed prosthodontic treatment. In spite of the large number of studies, criteria for grading or classifying the type and severity of the failures are inadequate because there is as such no common interpretation among investigators on the definition of failure, especially in terms of esthetics. The constituents of failure are more easily interpreted once restorative care objectives are stated. One can then define failure as an inability to meet or satisfy objectives ····· 10361114010
