This work focuses on the flow phenomena during cake washing driven by mass forces such as in a centrifugal field. Dealing with cake washing means that aspects of particle technology, mass transfer, flow phenomena and interface interactions have to be taken into account. A new point of view is presented to have a better understanding of the washing mechanisms influenced by the process steps before and after washing.
