Fractal Image Compression Techniques

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Fractal Image compression is one of the newer ways of squeezing an image file by systematically analyzing it and saving a smaller set of instruction instead of a description of every pixel that can be used to precisely reconstruct it. The Technique used in this book utilizes the Genetic Algorithm, which greatly decreases the search space for finding the self similarities in the given image. The Domain pool design is one of the dominant issues, which affect coding performance of fractal image compression. In this book, a block-averaging method is used to design an efficient domain pool, which produces high quality image after compression and decompression. The Genetic Algorithm reduces the time complexity irrespective of image quality and Efficient Domain pool attains high quality image. Generally when image compression is carried out, the factors such as size of image, compression ratio, quality and time are considered. The work in this book concentrates on reducing time complexity involved during fractal image compression and also on obtaining high quality compressed images. ····· 1036186511

····· 1036173801

Reverse Engineering of Real-Time System Models From Event Trace Recordings

····· lezzter Preis 35.50€ ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Model-driven approaches are experiencing an increasing acceptance in the automotive domain thanks to the availability of the AUTOSAR standard, which defines an open software architecture for the model-based development of real-time systems and a corresponding development methodology. However, the process of creating models of existing system components is often difficult and time consuming, especially when legacy code is involved or information about the exact timing is needed. The research community tackles this problem by developing algorithms for automatically deriving characteristics of the system`s timing behaviour, e.g., response times and resource blockings from various artefacts such as source code or runtime measurements. This work focuses on reversely engineering an AUTOSAR-compliant model, which can be used for further processing including timing simulation and optimisation, via a dynamic analysis from trace recordings of a real-time system. Although software reverse engineering via dynamic analysis has a long history, little research targets embedded systems and its use for multi-core architectures is largely unresearched. Furthermore, related work mainly discusses the analysis of individual characteristics of a real-time system, such as execution times or stimulation patterns instead of creating a description of the entire system. Huselius, whose work is among the publications most related to the topic of this thesis, proposes a technique to reverse engineer a model that reflects the general temporal behaviour of the original real-time software. However, like other existing solutions, it was not developed with AUTOSAR in mind. It is also not feasible to make this approach applicable to the automotive domain, because Huselius has not considered some required details, such as activation patterns, scheduling information, and compliance to the standardised development methodology of AUTOSAR. We want to tackle this deficiency by introducing, in this work, an approach that seizes on Huselius`s considerations and extends them in order to make them applicable to the automotive domain. To do so, we present CoreTAna, a prototypical tool that derives an AUTOSAR compliant model of a real-time system by conducting dynamic analysis using trace recordings. Its reverse engineering approach is designed in such a way that it fits seamlessly into the methodology specified by AUTOSAR. CoreTAna`s current features are explained and their benefits for reverse engineering are highlighted, and a framework for evaluating the quality of synthesised models is described. Motivated by the challenge of assessing the quality of reverse engineered models of real-time software, we also introduce a mathematical measure for comparing trace recordings from embedded real-time systems regarding their temporal behaviour and a benchmark framework based on this measure, for evaluating reverse engineering tools such as CoreTAna. This framework considers common system architectures and also includes randomly generated systems and systems of projects in the automotive domain and other industries. Finally, CoreTAna`s performance and applicability are evaluated on the basis of this benchmark. ····· 1036171518

Effective and Efficient Summarization of Two-Dimensional Point Data

····· lezzter Preis 45.50€ ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Space is everywhere, and so is spatial data. The digital revolution has led to an enormous pool of available spatial data, and the amount of newly generated spatial data is increasing day by day. Often, this spatial data is two-dimensional point data that in addition is associated with data objects such as media objects (e.g. pictures or texts). As a consequence of the huge amount of data objects which is generated and then has to be maintained, there is a need for effective and efficient search systems which are capable of addressing the spatial properties of the data objects. In this context, different search scenarios exist: The data objects might be maintained in a distributed system (i.e. on a set of different machines) or in a centralized system (i.e. on a single machine) which, in each case, leads to varying requirements for appropriate search systems. However, in both scenarios, the concept of resource description and selection is an applicable paradigm for conducting similarity searches with regard to the spatial properties of the data objects. Hereby, when focusing on the spatial aspects, a resource is an abstract entity that administers spatial point data. For describing the spatial footprint of a resource, its spatial data point set can be `summarized` by means of geometrically delineated areas which cover this data point set. These resource descriptions are then usable for a targeted selection of the resources which administer the relevant data objects based on spatial properties. This thesis is concerned with the effective and efficient summarization of two-dimensional spatial point data as a means for resource description and selection in spatial application scenarios. The term `effective` refers to a spatially very accurate geometric delineation of the data point set to describe whereas the term `efficient` relates to its storage-space-efficient representation. Two search-based spatial application scenarios are assessed in this thesis, and in both, the search task can be modelled by adhering to the concept of resource description and selection. The first scenario is a distributed application scenario in which spatial point data is maintained by a set of independent resources such as peers in a peer-to-peer network. Given a concrete query, the resource descriptions shall enable the targeted selection of the peers administering the relevant data points while ignoring `irrelevant` resources. The distributed application scenario is the main part of this thesis, and our summarization approaches are specifically developed for this purpose. Hereby, a variety of concepts is considered which include the compression of the data points, the use of arbitrarily complex bounding volumes to delineate them, the representation of complex objects (such as complex bounding volumes) with a set of simple objects, and a division of the data point set to describe into groups and the subsequent concise delineation of each group. Overall, 14 summarization approaches are presented in this thesis which can be categorized into data partitioning approaches, space partitioning approaches, and hybrid approaches. Following the specification of suitable resource selection schemes which are based on the various summaries, an extensive evaluation is conducted by means of assessing the approaches` performances for k nearest neighbor (kNN) queries. The evaluation considers different data collections and varying environmental conditions in order to assess the robustness of the approaches. In the second application scenario, a utilization of our summarization approaches in a multidimensional data structure is assessed---which constitutes a centralized application scenario. More specifically, the two summarization approaches of the distributed application scenario which are most suitable for this purpose are integrated into an R-tree which administers sets of two-dimensional point data. The R-tree is a tree-based, centralized multidimensional data structure which has been the subject of intensive research over many years, starting in 1984. Within an R-tree, the `resources` are the nodes of the hierarchical tree structure. The resource descriptions shall enable the targeted traversal of paths in the tree structure when searching for the relevant data points given a specific query. Traditionally, these nodes are described by Minimum Bounding Rectangles (MBRs) which are very storage-space-efficient but rather coarse descriptions of a spatial footprint. After presenting the classical R-tree, the modifications to the R-tree that are necessary to integrate our summarization approaches are discussed. Also, appropriate algorithms for calculating summaries from a set of rectangles are outlined as this is a prerequisite for the efficient use of our sophisticated summarization approaches in R-trees. Following the specification of appropriate range query and kNN query algorithms, an extensive evaluation is conducted which assesses both the improvement potential over the traditional R-tree using MBR summaries as well as the degree of achievement by means of the straightforward approach to the integration that we pursue. Also in this evaluation, different data collections and varying environmental conditions are considered. Overall, the thesis presents a wide variety of summarization approaches for describing sets of two-dimensional point data. These summarization approaches are excellently suited for usage in the investigated distributed application scenario. Furthermore, we assess the utilization of the two summarization approaches which are most appropriate for this purpose in an already very intensively researched centralized application scenario. Here, we examine further improvement potentials and identify important obstacles which are to overcome for our summarization approaches in such an environment. ····· 1036171511

Ermittlung aufgabenbezogener Integrationsbedarfe zur Ableitung von Integrationsarchitekturen für Informationssysteme

····· lezzter Preis 22.50€ ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
····· 1036171507

New Concepts for Presence and Availability in Ubiquitous and Mobile Computing

····· lezzter Preis 26.00€ ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Modern Computer-mediated Communication technologies like Instant Messaging (IM) systems enable spontaneous communication over distance. With the advances in Mobile and Ubiquitous Computing, these technologies move away from the desktop computers of our offices, and become more and more pervasive and interwoven with our daily lives. The introduction of these great possibilities to communicate from everywhere with everyone however comes at a cost: The cost of constantly being available to everybody, everywhere, leading to an increasing number of interruptions in our daily tasks. The challenge is, that current technology does not empower users to manage their availability in an adequate manner. Most IM clients for example, only support one single online status that needs to be managed manually by the user. In this work I am founding the concepts of Presence and Availability on a deep understanding of human privacy needs, derived from literature. Based on this foundation, I show how the selective and dynamic nature of privacy is not sufficiently reflected in current systems. Based on two user studies I reveal patterns for selective information disclosure and present an analysis of Selective Availability needs. With the collected study data, I further show that Selective Availability for nomadic users can be predicted based on sensors installed on the users` laptop computer with a good accuracy through machine learning. As the personalised nature of the data requires new concepts for building an adaptive system, I introduce the LILOLE Framework. The LILOLE Framework outlines the concept of an adaptive system that relies on stream-based active learning to continuously learn and automatically adapt fine-grained personal availability preferences for individual users. The concept is validated through a proof-of-concept implementation and an evaluation based on real user data. In comparison to related work, the presented work is one of very few examples that goes beyond the pure analysis of the predictability, but provides a concept and an implementation of a real system as validation. My approach is novel by combining concepts from Data Stream Mining and Active Learning to predict availability, thus making it very flexible for different settings. This way I am able to address the selective and dynamic nature of availability preferences for nomadic users. ····· 1036171502

····· 1036171493
