Br. - später an der Universität Göttingen. 1933 unterzeichnete er das Bekenntnis der Professoren an den deutschen Universitäten und Hochschulen zu Adolf Hitler und dem nationalsozialistischen Staat . 1938 wurde er jedoch aus der Göttinger Akademie ausgeschlossen, weil seine Frau als Halbjüdin eingestuft wurde.
