Mothers Behind Bars

für 53.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Few studies have been conducted that focus on incarcerated women. The purpose of this study was to explore the lived experience of the incarcerated woman as a mother. The incarcerated mother identifies caring, hurting, addiction, hurtful past, and faith as essential themes. The incarcerated mothers experience hurting related to separation from their children. They maintain a sense of caring for their children, which is supported by their faith in God. ····· lezzter Preis 44.10€ ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Nurses who daily witness trauma and death are strangely silent about sharing their distress and are often divisive and unsupportive of each other. Nursing management, seemingly blind to the stresses and grief carried by nurses and unwilling to even recognize these issues. What lies beneath these behaviors and can nurses provide effective care for clients when their own intrinsic needs remained unrecognized These questions are explored in a participative research project with a team of 11 burnout community palliative care nurses. The group process begins with an exploration of the culture of nursing, revealing historical expectations of conformity and altruism still influencing expectations of nurses today. As the nurses` stories unfolded, the depths of caring and accumulated grief emerged. Embedded in the stories however was the realisation that their caring had been limited to their clients and was not extended to themselves or to each other. The resultant journey of healing transformed a burnout team to a vibrant, supportive community. This book will provide a template for nurse managers and educators in fostering a culture of empowerment and support within nursing teams. ····· 10361114413

There are different views on the significance of the art of nursing within nursing education today. This has lead to the art` of nursing discourse being marginalised into a position that would see many nurses question not only the presence of an art` but also it`s relevance in today`s practice environment. Available literature asserts there has been a philosophical shift in the ideology driving health care delivery and this shift has created a natural marginalisation of the art of nursing within both the health institutions and nursing education today. This study is a rich and descriptive portrayal of a group of New Zealand Nurse Educators` collective perceptions and presents the idea that the art of nursing is a diverse phenomenon that is influenced, and defined, by the experiences of registered nurses. It will be of interest to all registered nurses, and nursing students who wish to further explore the relevance of the art of nursing in their nursing careers. ····· 10361101873

Implications of Resource Constraint on Patient Satisfaction

There are many issues that increase the complexity of health care today. Among these issues are (a) the cost of health care, (b) the quality of health care, (c) medical errors and patient injury, and (d) the shortage of nursing staff to care for the patients. There are drivers in place to overhaul the health care system. The drivers demand improvement in quality of care, reduction in medical errors and patient injury, improved patient health care outcomes, and a decrease in medical care expenditures. The key to addressing these issues lies within the transformation of the current hierarchical structure of the acute care unit into a High Performing Organization (HPO). This paper examines an evidence-based practice proposal utilizing Blanchard s HPO model as a means to delineate the factors that impede high level functioning on an acute care unit, remove the barriers that obstruct high performance, and empower the staff in order to become a high performing unit (Blanchard, 2007). Leaders of high performing organizations partner with their employees in order to create an organization that is grounded in becoming high performing. ····· 10361100259

Zambia has one of the world s most devastating HIV/AIDS epidemics and nurses work hard to spread information about how to prevent the infection. This thesis sought to describe the unique interventions of intellectual disability nursing in Irish residential services, through the employment of standardised nursing language. The study specifically set out to identify: 1) the interventional foci of nursing 2) the current contribution of nursing and 3) the usefulness of a terminological approach for describing the unique contribution of nursing. The central finding suggests that interventional caring in is a generic entity which transcends professional boundaries. It posits that intellectual disability nursing has, with the exceptions of physical care and technical health management, no unique interventional complement to add to such caring in residential settings for this population. This volume critically takes stock of the current state of studies on the use of robotic assistance systems in the field of nursing care. It takes a nursing science perspective and incorporates the intensive international discussion that has been going on for three decades while being systematically based on a differentiated understanding of the nursing profession, specific characteristics of different target groups, and a corresponding complexity of interventions. Legal issues pertaining to the nursing profession and to the systematic provision of care are addressed as well as ethical aspects of nursing care assessment. It is recommended - among other things - that the development of autonomous systems in nursing be pursued as a process of participatory, socio-technical innovation that takes into account the complexity of nursing arrangements and the fundamental values of nursing. Autonomous systems in nursing should primarily be oriented towards supporting the core processes of nursing care: defining situations and making decisions. The substitution of personal care through the use of autonomous systems should be avoided. ····· 1036194723
