····· 1036189411

Psicoanalistas Hombres Psicoanalistas Mujeres

····· 1036189403

Adolescent Cancer Survivors

für 53.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
This study examined different models of predicting adjustment in adolescent cancer survivors. In particular, the study sought to clarify the role of child factors, including personality, appraisal, and coping, in predicting self-esteem and psychological distress while controlling for more established predictors, such as disease, family, and support variables. Support was obtained for additive models in which (a) optimism, peer support, and age at diagnosis predicted self-esteem and (b) neuroticism and cognitive avoidance predicted distress while controlling other factors. Support was also obtained for a model in which cognitive avoidance partially mediated the relationship between neuroticism and psychological distress. These results underscore the importance of considering child factors in predicting adjustment in adolescent cancer survivors and help to paint a picture of what a more resilient survivor might look like. He or she would be lower in neuroticism and higher in optimism and would engage in less cognitive avoidance. Moreover, he or she would have a close and supportive peer network and a higher functioning, less distressed family. ····· 1036189321

This study examined the relationship between physical activity, or exercise, life satisfaction, and trauma in a sample of 75 adult individuals who voluntarily participated in the study. It was expected that, compared to the others in the sample, those individuals that exercised consistently, and had experienced trauma in their lives, specifically abuse as children, would have greater life satisfaction and fewer negative symptoms stemming from the trauma. Participants completed an online survey questionnaire that consisted of multiple instruments that assessed for degree of life satisfaction, amount and duration of exercise, and occurrence of child abuse or other trauma. In addition, participants provided information regarding past or and/or current drug and alcohol use, as well as various other demographic factors. Results indicated that consistent vigorous exercise is indeed related to greater life satisfaction and to fewer symptoms of PTSD. Discussion focused on the role that exercise may play as a coping mechanism, and as a possible long-term treatment, for trauma related symptoms and other disorders in adults and children. ····· 1036189123

Emotions in Action

für 53.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Humans seem to have a strong tendency to imitate during social interactions. Although not action themselves emotions influence imitative behaviours and typically emerge in circumstances where social coordination is required. Emotions, therefore, are held to be functional products of Darwinian evolution, developed from primitive interactions that facilitated communication of distress, mutual help and collaboration. However, we still do not know why, when and how emotions can lead to facilitated imitation. Along this book I report several proves of the influence of emotions on imitative behaviours in normal and abnormal populations. By means of a combination of behavioural, physiological and artificial neural network experiments, I was able to show the existence of an empathic resonance mechanism that speeds up imitative behaviours in emotional contexts and explore its neural substrates. This book provides a further step toward the understanding of the fascinating mechanisms of empathy and mutual influence . Giuseppe Fin, Journalist of L Adige ····· 1036188861

Metric Calibration of Psychological Instruments

für 61.20€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Inspired by the history of the metric calibration of instruments in the physical sciences, and by past psychology giants, the current work investigates the metric calibration of psychological instruments and argues that it is both useful and feasible to calibrate the metric of psychological instruments so as to render their metrics non-arbitrary. Concerning utility, a conceptual analysis reveals four categories of proposed benefits of non-arbitrary metrics (e.g., help in the interpretation of data). With respect to feasibility, the metric calibration approach is successfully applied to instruments of seven distinct constructs commonly studied in psychology, across three empirical demonstration studies and re-analyses of other researchers data. Metric calibration is achieved by finding empirical linkages between scores of the measures and specifically-configured theoretically-relevant behaviors argued to reflect particular locations on the relevant underlying psychological dimension. Such configured behaviors can then serve as common reference points to calibrate the scores of different instruments, rendering the metric of those instruments non-arbitrary. ····· 1036188216

School teacher counselors are at higher risk of burnout than individuals in other occupations due to individual, interpersonal, and organizational factors.Teacher counsellors with burnout, are a liability to the school, students, colleagues, and themselves. On the contrary, engaged teachers feel strong and vigorous at work, are enthusiastic and optimistic about the work they do and are very often immersed in that work. Using Utrecht (2003) Work Engagement Model and the Maslach and Leiter (1997) Model of Burnout, the study explored the effect of teacher counselor burnout on their work engagement, using a cross sectional survey of teacher counsellors. The study generated empirical evidence on the effect of burnout on the work engagement of teacher counselors within Kenyan secondary schools. There was a strong significant inverse correlation between work engagement and burnout. The regression model suggests that burnout is a significant predictor of work engagement among teacher counselors and explains 25.8% of the variation in work engagement.
