Proton Acceleration in Ultra-Relativistic Laser-Plasma Interaction

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
With the rapid development of laser systems, plasma-based laser-driven ion acceleration has drawn increasing attention these years. In this book, one of the most efficient and promising ion acceleration mechanisms, so-called radiation pressure acceleration or light-sail regime is re-visited and studied in detail by theoretical analysis and multi-dimensional particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations. Based on a simple `flying plasma mirror` model, accurate scaling laws of the final ion energy, velocity, momentum, and energy coupling efficiency in the light-sail regime have been derived. For smooth proton acceleration, a shaped foil target or a density-modulated foil target is suggested to overcome the foil deformation when a transversely Gaussian laser pulse irradiates the foil. GeV proton beams can be generated with a well-defined quasi-monoenergetic feature in the energy spectrum. For stable proton acceleration in the light-sail regime, a two-ion-species shaped foil target is proposed and demonstrated by a series of PIC simulations. Hard X-ray gernation and attosecond electron beams are also stuided and verified in the light-sail regime. ····· 10361534

Radiative Decay Constant of Pion

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
This is my first work that I did for the fulfillment of the requirements for MSc. degree. In this work our purpose is to calculate the pion radiative decay constant using the formulation of Bethe-Salpeter equation under covariant Instantaneous Ansatz(CIA)after inclusion of both leading(LO) as well as next-to-leading(NLO) terms in the BS wave function of the pion. In this process we also calculate the pion Bethe-Salpeter Normalizer which is an extremely lengthy calculation. ····· 10361457

Quantum Hall Effect in 2D Electron Gas

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
In this book we analyze the modern state of the problem connected with quantum Hall effect (integral and fractional). The quantum Hall effect is a quantum-mechanical version of the Hall effect, observed in two dimensional electron systems subjected to low temperatures ( 1K) and strong magnetic fields (10T), in which the Hall conductance takes on the quantized values (e2/h) with an integer (integer quantized Hall effect) or a rational fraction (fractional quantized Hall effect), independent of the detail of the sample geometry. The fractional quantum Hall effect is not complectly understood at the time being. Recently the idea of chiral heat transport in quantum Hall regime was pushed forward [33], we also analyze thermal transport in the fractional quantum Hall effect (FQHE). And we consider the problem of two electrons in a uniform magnetic field with the account of the center mass: (1) Quantum Mechanical Description and (2) Classical Description. ····· 10361434

Hidden Sector Extensions of the Standard Model:

für 53.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
The Standard Model (SM) of Particle Physics for the Electroweak and Strong interactions is one of the most successful physical theories ever formulated. However, our present knowledge of Cosmology together with theoretical arguments suggest that the SM is an incomplete description of high energy particle physics, and new physics is expected to be present close to the TeV energy scale. Among the many possibilities for physics beyond the Standard Model, Hidden Sectors (particle sectors that don`t feel the Strong and Electroweak forces) appear as natural candidates for solving the various puzzles arising at the interface of particle physics and cosmology, such as the nature of the observed Dark Matter in the Universe or the dynamical generation of an asymmetry in baryonic matter in the Early Universe. Here we perform a study of the main features of the phenomenology of Hidden Sectors related to the cosmology of the Early Universe, the generation of the Dark Matter density and the nature of the Electroweak phase transition. We also analyze the role Hidden Sectors may play in the spontaneous breaking of the Electroweak symmetry, and how they modify the Higgs sector of the SM. ····· 10361284

Thin films by Metal Nanoclusters

für 53.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
High quality thin films can be produced by cluster beam deposition, because the impact of cluster beams produce much stronger effects on surface than ion beams with the same total energy. Nano-size metal clusters produced inside a NC 200 gas aggregation source are deposited on a substrate and these cluster films are characterized by different techniques to study: the cluster growth and transport mechanisms inside the cluster source, the cluster size dependence on the temperature inside the cluster forming chamber and at the time of deposition, chemical composition, etc. Analyzing the Ti nano-clusters at various temperature inside the cluster forming chamber, it is observed that the cluster parameters strongly depend on the temperature of the magnetron chamber walls. Molecules of titanium oxides may be nuclei of condensation and accelerate the nucleation process. A theoretical analysis based on experimental results helps to describe various stages of cluster evolution from their formation up to the deposition on the substrate and provides estimations for parameters of the processes involving clusters. ····· 10361249

Seven New SH-SAWs in Cubic Piezoelectromagnetics

für 61.20€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
This theoretical work demonstrates the existence of seven new shear-horizontal surface acoustic waves (SH-SAWs) when different electrical and magnetic boundary conditions are applied. All the discovered SH-SAWs can propagate on the surface of the cubic piezoelectromagnetics along direction [101]. Calculations of the new SH-SAW features were performed for two-phase composites with the piezomagnetic phase (Metglas, Terfenol-D, Galfenol, Alfenol) and the piezoelectric phase (Tl3TaSe4, Tl3VS4, PZT). It was also found that the surface Bleustein-Gulyaev-Melkumyan wave can propagate in the cubic piezoelectromagnetics. Also, it was found that for both the sets of the eigenvector components, only single SH-SAW solution can be revealed for both groups of the cubic piezoelectromagnetics (CMEMC 1/3 and CMEMC ····· 10361171

Exploration of Focused Ion Beam Processing

für 53.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
The necessity of miniaturization of the devices expands the scope of nanotechnology. In recent years, researchers have poured in a lot of effort in the development of nanoscale devices. The focused ion beam (FIB) has proven itself as a very powerful and unique technique for nanofabrication. FIB induced micro / nanofabrication fundamentally involves two basic phenomena namely sputtering and molecular cracking, leading to the material removal and material deposition, respectively. In the present work the basic physical processes involved in the FIB induced deposition have been investigated and the correlation between ion beam parameters and physical characteristics of FIB fabricated nanostructures has been studied. There are a number of other physical phenomena viz. scattering, redeposition, secondary electron / photon emission and localized heating etc. which may occur when the incident ions interact with the substrate during the FIB processing, and intricately influence the nanofabrication. Therefore, it is very necessary to investigate the effect of these phenomena for efficient FIB processing. In the present work the influences of these physical phenomena have been explored. ····· 1036169

Anyonic Quantum Computation

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Quantum computation can be done by using non-abelian anyons which are neither bosons nor fermions. These exotic particles live only in two dimensional systems. Quasi-particles of = 5/2 fractional quantum Hall state will provide such non-abelian anyons. We discuss a NOT gate operation by braiding these anyons. In this work fundamental concepts of quantum computation are reviewed. Non-abelian anyons and topological phases are introduced. Some basic facts about fractional quantum Hall state are given. This is a book version of the MS thesis of the author. ····· 1036148
