By deepening poverty and worsening inequality. By an unequal distribution of COVID vaccines. By climate commitments that fall short. And by ongoing conflict, division, and misinformation," said Guterres in his New Year's address. \n"Together, let's make recovery our resolution for 2022," he added. \nThe UN chief said that the aforementioned challenges are not 'just policy tests' but 'moral and real-life tests' that can be passed if the world strives for recovery. He then continued to outline the measures and goals that needed to be carried out to reach recovery regarding the pandemic, climate change, economic difficulties, conflicts, mistrust and division. \n"Moments of great difficulty are also moments of great opportunity. To come together in solidarity. To unite behind solutions that can benefit all people. And to move forward, together, with hope in what our human family can accomplish," he finished his New Year's speech.\n\n Video ID: 20211229-007\n\n Video on Demand: https://ruptly.tv/videos/20211229-007\n Contact: cd@ruptly.tv \n\n Twitter: http://twitter.com/Ruptly\n Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Ruptly ····· 110329745

Turkey: Attack part of 'plan to keep HDP out of politics' - District Co-Chair Kuzu

für € kaufen ···· Ruptly
Follow us on Telegram: \nhttps://t.me/s/ruptlynews\n\nSubscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe\n\nHDP Peoples' Democratic Party's District Co-Chair Mehmet Kuzu said that the attack on their capital office building in Istanbul is part of a plan to keep the pro-Kurdish party out of politics, speaking from Istanbul on Tuesday. \nThe statement follows an attack carried out by an armed assailant on Tuesday that left one person injured. \n"Political power is responsible for these attacks. It is the political power that pays dividends to those responsible, secretly supports them, first detains them, and then takes them away. All this is part of plans to keep HDP out of politics," said Mehmet Kuzu. \nThe Co-Chair also suspects that upcoming events that are important to the party played a role. \nWednesday marks the ten-year anniversary of the Roboski massacre, also known as the Uludere airstrike, in which 34 Kurdish civilians were killed by Turkish airstrikes on the Iraqi-Turkish border. \nFurthermore, the trial of the HDP employee Deniz Poyraz, who was murdered in June 2021 by a set fire in the party headquarters in Izmir, begins. \nAfter gaining access to the office under false pretenses, the attacker assaulted the members inside the office with a knife and yelled, 'I'm going to kill you all, murderers, terrorists, traitors,' according to Mehmet. \nIncluding the incident in Izmir, the attack on the HDP office is the second major attack targeting the party in only six months.\n\nSOT, Mehmet Kuzu, District co-chair of HDP (Turkish): "A 23-24-year-old man who came to our party office building around 1:00 p.m. today tells three of our friends that He wants to be a member. Friends say there are no co-chairs and administrators right now. The same person comes back in 2 minutes and asks for the toilet, and the friends show him where it is."\n\nSOT, Mehmet Kuzu, District co-chair of HDP (Turkish): "After spending a few minutes in the bathroom, he comes out and our friends offer him tea. After offering him tea and throwing the hot tea at the friend sitting next to him, he pulls out his knife and gets stuffed down his throat and starts yelling, 'I'm going to kill you all, murderers, terrorists, traitors'. Two of our other friends are trying to intervene, but in the meantime, the person pulls the gun from his waistband. That's when a brawl breaks out and the knife falls out of his hand, so he pulls the other gun from his waistband."\n\nSOT, Mehmet Kuzu, District co-chair of HDP (Turkish): "A subsequent examination found that someone pointed one of the handguns at a friend in the room, who turned out to be a real gun, the gun jammed when he pulled the trigger, he didn't fire, so he tried to escape, and there was another scuffle as he went down the stairs, and the friends took the guns in his hand. The person gets rid of his friends and takes refuge in an oven downstairs."\n\nSOT, Mehmet Kuzu, District co-chair of HDP (Turkish): "I think the answer to the question of why this attack took place is this: Tomorrow is the tenth anniversary of the Roboski and there is a second reason for the party's acquisition, and the comrade named Deniz Poyraz, who was murdered in our Izmir city hall, has his first hearing tomorrow. In addition, we think that a group that is disturbed by these glorious events is behind this attack, which our party recently held a late democracy march, Istanbul congress, Amed youth congress.\n\nSOT, Mehmet Kuzu, District co-chair of HDP (Turkish): "This attack is a different reflection of the closure of conspiracy cases, especially those that target our party. It's a bloody play. There must be some dark forces behind this, government powers. Political power is responsible for these attacks. It is the political power that pays dividends to those responsible, secretly supports them, first detains them and then takes them away. All this is part of plans to keep HDPi out of politics."\n\n Video ID: 20211229-005\n\n Video on Demand: https://ruptly.tv/videos/20211229-005\n Contact: cd@ruptly.tv \n\n Twitter: http://twitter.com/Ruptly\n Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Ruptly ····· 110329741

A man who symbolised dignity and integrity, perhaps the most respected person," said another citizen about the religious leader, who spent his life advocating for civil rights and fighting Apartheid, inequality and corruption. \nThe landmark illumination was started at 20:00 local time (18:00 GMT) on Sunday and will continue every night this week.\n\nSOT, Jessie Amechi, Citizen: "I think this is very symbolical for the lighting up of the light cause we're giving, we give the arch a very good thing. USA: Conservators open Civil War era time capsule found under Robert E Lee statue

Follow us on Telegram: \nhttps://t.me/s/ruptlynews\n\nSubscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe\n\nMandatory Credit: Office of the Governor of Virginia\n\nConservators opened a time capsule found in the pedestal of a Robert E Lee statue and pulled out various items including magazine clippings, a Bible, buttons, ammunition, documents and money, in Richmond, Virginia on Tuesday. \nThe time capsule was found on Monday in the remnants of a pedestal that once held a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, with records at the Library of Virginia saying it was buried in 1877. \nThe 36-pound box was found sitting in water in a little alcove of the pedestal just a week after a different capsule was found in the middle of the statue's pedestal which - unlike the new discovery - did not match the historical accounts. \n?Putting items in the freezer buys us a lot of time and they will eventually be dried. We're going to silicon gel in the freezer after they are completely frozen. That will help draw off the moisture from the books," said a conservation expert about the damp artefacts affected by the water. \nThe experts are still unsure about the purpose of the box. \n"I think that there's a question whether or not this is really a time capsule. Time capsules were meant to have a definite opening date in the future and this did not appear to have that. So calling it a cornerstone box is probably more accurate," said the lead conservator for the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, Kate Ridgway after carefully unpacking the objects. \nAccording to historical records maintained by the Library of Virginia, a group of Richmond residents, local organisations and businesses placed about 60 items including Confederate memorabilia inside the capsule. Another time capsule was found at the site of the same statue and opened earlier in December.\n\nSOT, Conservator: "Yesterday the team that was disassembling this, discovered a time capsule that was placed there in 1887 according to the historical record. They have been looking for it for a while, a separate time capsule was found about a week ago in the middle of the pedestal - turned out to be a fun thing, it was artefacts placed there by the people that built the physical structure."\n\nSOT, Conservator: "We are going to focus on putting the very very watered books that we will not be able to interleave or otherwise dry. We are going to put them in a freezer. And so putting items in the freezer buys us a lot of time and they will eventually be dried. We're going to put silicon gel in the freezer after they are completely frozen that will help draw off the moisture from the books."\n\nSOT, Kate Ridgway, Virginia State Archeological Conservator: "I think that there's a question whether or not this is really a time capsule. The line includes the Xiaomi 12 Pro version, with three 50 MP sensors and other features. \nXiaomi CEO Lei Jun indicated this could be a direct competitor of the iPhone 13. "We have bigger batteries and faster power supply. What's more important? Our cell phone signal is so much better. Sometimes I think that as a business person, if you often make a lot of phone calls, it must be more convenient to use Xiaomi 12 than to use iPhone13," he said during the presentation. \nThe Xiaomi 12 will sell for 3,699 RMB (€512, $580), while the Xiaomi 12 Pro will retail for 4,699 RMB (€652, $737). Though the devices are available exclusively in mainland China for the moment, they are expected to become available worldwide in early 2022.\n\nSOT, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi (Mandarin): "This time we officially announce our Xiaomi 12 series to beat the Apple’s iPhone 13 series. When I first said this about few days ago, the hashtag and the topic have quickly became a hot topic on internet. I think this would have been a good goal, but I still see a lot of cynicism comments online. I think Chinese domestic mobile phone brand should have such courage, why not compare or beat with it?"\n\nSOT, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi (Mandarin): "As we have said repeatedly just now, when you hold the phone on your hand, the feeling of holding our Xiaomi mobile phone is much better than holding the iPhone13. Even in this case, the screen of Xiaomi 12 is 8% bigger than that of the iPhone13."\n\nSOT, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi (Mandarin): "We have bigger batteries and faster power supply. What's more important? Our cell phone signal is so much better. Sometimes I think that as a business person, if you often make a lot of phone calls, it must be more convenient to use Xiaomi 12 than to use iPhone 13."\n\nSOT, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi (Mandarin): "Many consumers think that small-size mobile phones should be cheap. In fact, under the premise of the same configuration, I think the development of small-size phones is much more difficult and the cost is much higher. For example, let me give you a few small examples, where the high cost is? For instance, to cram so many high-end flagship functions into a small-size mobile phone, it is actually very difficult to make all the devices as small as possible."\n\nSOT, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi (Mandarin): "So many people are very concerned about how much this phone is. As a matter of fact, we are also very tangled. Now let's take a look at our final decision: the price is 3,699 RMB (€512, $580)."\n\nSOT, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi (Mandarin): "I hope you can like Xiaomi 12 and also like our sincere pricing."\n\nSOT, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi (Mandarin): "Next, I'm going to release Xiaomi 12 pro, which our Xiaomi fans are most concerned about. The target of Xiaomi 12pro is to beat iPhone 13 Pro Max."\n\nSOT, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi (Mandarin): "At this point, I still want to compare Xiaomi 12 pro with iPhone 13 Pro Max, maybe you will know that Xiaomi 12 pro has beat iPhone 13 Pro Max in many ways. I think people should be more confident that Xiaomi is not necessarily inferior to Apple in many technologies."\n\nSOT, Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi (Mandarin): "How much is the price of our Xiaomi 12 pro? Let's have a look. The price is 4,699 RMB (€652, $737)."\n\n#Xiaomi #China #Xiaomi12\n\n Video ID: 20211228-053\n\n Video on Demand: https://ruptly.tv/videos/20211228-053\n Contact: cd@ruptly.tv \n\n Twitter: http://twitter.com/Ruptly\n Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Ruptly ····· 110329729

We didn't come to NATO borders; NATO came to us. That’s why we have absolutely legitimate reasons to be worried about it. We promote the principle of indivisible security, that the security of one state cannot be ensured at the expense of the security of the others. It is the core idea of many documents that were signed at the beginning or in the middle of the 90s. So, we want to come back to this spirit."\n\nSOT, Dmitry Polyanskiy, First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Russian Federation: "This is our sovereign territory, and we have the right to move the troops, to place the troops, to conduct exercises. Women disappeared in Mazar-i-Sharif and no one even heard their voice. Germany: New Berlin mayor urges vaccination on hospital visit

Follow us on Telegram: \nhttps://t.me/s/ruptlynews\n\nSubscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe\n\nThe new Mayor of Berlin appealed for the unvaccinated to get the jab, as she visited Berlin's Charite hospital, which hosts many of the seriously ill with COVID patients.\n\nBerlin Mayor Franziska Giffey told press on Tuesday that many of the seriously ill were not COVID sceptics, but had put off getting vaccinated.\n\n"The majority of them are actually not vehemently opposed to the vaccination but simply neglected it and did not do it. They simply did not think about it and did not get vaccinated because they thought perhaps it's not so urgent. And then they are laying here with a lot of medical devices and all the medical support and strength that can be given to them, and sometimes it's enough for the doctors and care staff to care for them and save them, but sometimes not," she said.\n\nOn the subject of introducing a new lockdown, Giffey said that although the intensive occupancy is at 19.2 percent, and the incidence rate over 200, "we are not at that point for a lockdown, but that is just for the time being because it is clear that if the situation worsens we will have to react. We have had additional restrictions in place since today, also in Berlin, we will let these measures take effect and take a very close look at what is necessary in the next few days.?\n\nChief Executive Officer on the executive board at Charite Heyo Kroemer, called for close monitoring of the situation, as Omikron could overburden the health system despite milder courses.\n\n"At the height of the Christmas wave we had over 160 intensive care patients with us, which led to the fact that we could no longer do other things at the same time. Meanwhile we are at about 80," he added.\n\nSince Tuesday, stricter corona rules have been implemented in Berlin, including limits on private gatherings between the vaccinated and unvaccinated. Discos, clubs and the sale of fireworks have also been banned.\n\nSOUNDBITES:\n\nSOT, Franziska Giffey, Berlin Mayor (German): ?For those who are unvaccinated here in this intensive care unit, the majority of them are actually not vehemently opposed to the vaccination but simply neglected it and did not do it. They simply did not think about it and did not get vaccinated because they thought perhaps it's not so urgent. And then they are laying here with a lot of medical devices and all the medical support and strength that can be given to them, and sometimes it's enough for the doctors and care staff to care for them and save them, but sometimes not. And such a visit strengthens and renews again on the appeal and wish and appeal: ‘get yourselves vaccinated.’ One can only say it again and again. And for the people who are laying here, many of them are finding themselves in a situation where they think, 'I should have done it.'?\n\nSOT, Franziska Giffey, Berlin Mayor (German): ?And our task as politicians is to react very quickly to the changing situation. I still have the belief, as before, even after our conversation today, that we are not at that point for a lockdown, but that is just for the time being because it is clear that if the situation worsens we will have to react. We have had additional restrictions in place since today, also in Berlin, we will let these measures take effect and take a very close look at what is necessary in the next few days.?\n\nSOT, Franziska Giffey, Berlin Mayor (German): ?The intensive occupancy is at 19.2 percent, which means we are in the yellow traffic light phase, but we still have an incidence rate of over 200. So this is not a relaxed situation now and we have the Omicron variant which also starts in Germany and that’s why it's about working preventatively to a certain extent.?\n\nSOT, Franziska Giffey, Berlin Mayor (German): ?We have to find the balance between health protection on the one hand and also proportionality on the other. That is what we have done with the measures that are not also applicable in Berlin with the implementation of the MPK (Minister-President Conference) resolutions and we will observe in the next few days.?\n\nSOT, Franziska Giffey, Berlin Mayor (German): ?I think we have more steps we can take, the lockdown is the final one.?\n\n#COVID19 #coronavirus #Berlin #Germany\n\n Video ID: 20211228-045\n\n Video on Demand: https://ruptly.tv/videos/20211228-045\n Contact: cd@ruptly.tv \n\n Twitter: http://twitter.com/Ruptly\n Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Ruptly ····· 110329721

Follow us on Telegram: \nhttps://t.me/s/ruptlynews\n\nSubscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe\n\nA giant Christmas tree made up entirely of recycled plastic bottles was erected in Miziara, northern Lebanon, as seen on Sunday. \nGiven that the dire economic situation in the country has limited the budget for the construction of a massive tree in the Lebanese town, creativity has taken over and a local association and students of a local school used more than 100.000 bottles collected during the year to build the 13-metre tall attraction. \n"The iron fence was put in and we tied all the plastic bottles to the fence, in the high places we had to bring a crane in order to be able to put the plastic bottles at the top of the tree," said Antonio Chedyak, one of the people responsible for assembling the tree. \n"It is certain that after dismantling the tree we will send it to factories for recycling and it will not be thrown in the street again," he added. \nRafka Faddoul, a student that also helped in building the local attraction, said, ?Even though we were tired a lot and injured our hands and fell a lot of times, we seriously had a very beautiful time, and we can say that we lived a wonderful Christmas time in every sense of the word.?\n\nSOT, Antonio Chedyak, Participant in shaping the plastic tree (Arabic): ?I loved coming to help with the idea of the tree, which was inspired by [artist and environment activist] Caroline Chaptini, and as you can see the result is amazing. All ideas were inspired by Caroline, and we also thank the municipality of Miziara for giving us the iron fence that gives the shape of the tree. Caroline presented the idea to them and they gave her the iron model of the tree's shape."\n\nSOT, Antonio Chedyak, Participant in shaping the plastic tree (Arabic): ?The number of plastic containers [that make up the tree] is about 100,000, as you can see, the iron fence was put in and we tied all the plastic containers to the fence, in the high places we had to bring a crane in order to be able to put the plastic containers at the top of the tree, as you know this work requires men to do, but Caroline insisted on participating in all the work, she was here every second."\n\nSOT, Antonio Chedyak, Participant in shaping the plastic tree (Arabic): ?Of course, these plastic bottles that you see could have been seen thrown in the street, which is something that usually happens, instead of being thrown in the street, we collected them and used them to form something very beautiful. it is certain that after dismantling the tree we will send it to factories for recycling and it will not be thrown in the street again."\n\nSOT, Donna Marianne Dayra, Student (Arabic): ?First, I am a student in the MBA School of 'Assumption Lady.' We used to recycle plastic bottles regularly, and we found that the amount of plastic bottles is very large, so we decided to change the annual routine of the green tree, forming a plastic tree instead, as a kind of change. Every year the same tree was being placed In the village, we agreed with the municipality and formed a unique tree. In the end, this plastic can be sold and the money we earn will be given to the ?Children First? Association for the treatment of cancer. For these reasons, I participated in all the steps of forming the tree, and the experience was absolutely wonderful.?\n\nSOT, Rafka Faddoul, Student (Arabic): ?Even though we were tired a lot and injured our hands and fell a lot of times, we seriously had a very beautiful time, and we can say that we lived a wonderful Christmas time in every sense of the word.?\n\n#Christmas #ChristmasTree #Lebanon #EcoFriendly #Recycling \n\n Video ID: 20211226-027\n\n Video on Demand: https://ruptly.tv/videos/20211226-027\n Contact: cd@ruptly.tv \n\n Twitter: http://twitter.com/Ruptly\n Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Ruptly ····· 110329720

We are not left with just one or two. The family must be large because it is very important," said Ana Maria Ramirez from Peru in agreeance with the Bishop of Rome.\n\nHéctor Villanueva, a citizen of Peru, was confident that things would change for the better in 2022, saying, "Things are going to change, and this 2022 is going to be better. But our faith also has to be demonstrated by praying for others. Because we are all in the same problem together. And if we are not part of the solution, we are part of the problem. By praying and believing in God, everything will improve."\n\nThe pontiff greeted all the pilgrims coming not only from Italy but also from different countries, such as Poles, Brazilians, Colombians, or Peruvians, as well as families, parish groups, and various associations.\n\nSOUNDBITES:\n\nPope speaking (Italian): "Sometimes, it gets to physical and moral violence. This breaks the harmony and kills the family."\n\nPope speaking (Italian): ?There is a demographic winter. It seems that many have lost the illusion of having children. Russia: Moscow residents share views on collapse of Soviet Union 30 years on

Follow us on Telegram: \nhttps://t.me/s/ruptlynews\n\nSubscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe\n\nResidents of Moscow shared their views on the collapse of the USSR on Friday, as the world commemorates thirty years of the fall of the Soviet Union.\n\nAccording to Mikhail, the destruction of a huge "empire" entails wars over territory. "All against all. Although there used to be one country, the Friendship of the Peoples fountain at VDNKh. Everyone seemed to love everyone, and then, bang, it cracked, and there was none of that?, Mikhail noted.\n\nTatyana remembers that in the Soviet Union, there were more opportunities to travel within the country. "We used to all live together. We could go to all our republics. But now it is all over, you can't go anywhere in particular. I don't like the fact that the Soviet Union collapsed", the local woman added.\n\nAndrei from Moscow finds it difficult to talk about life in the USSR, as he was about five years old when the country collapsed. However, the man says that nowadays, in his opinion, there are more ways for citizens to realise their own potential.\n\nAccording to Natalya and Alexander, another Moscow resident, it was impossible to restrain other peoples' aspirations for independence. But with the collapse of the USSR, the state lost its ideological focus.\n\n"In summary, they have started to live better financially, but everything else - ideologically - is getting worse. There is no idea. No idea of what the country lives for", Alexander stated.\n\nThe first and last president of the USSR, Mikhail Gorbachev, resigned as head of state on 25 December 1991. On the evening of the same day, the red Soviet flag was lowered from the flagpole over the Kremlin and replaced by the Russian tricolour.\n\nSOUNDBITES:\n\nSOT, Mikhail, Resident of Moscow (Russian): "When an empire is falling, it is always bad, because something big and whole is crumbling into a lot of little things. Naturally, it is always war. Everyone starts having ambitions, everyone remembers at once that somewhere in history someone once represented something. Naturally, the neighbour took it all away and so on and so forth."\n\nSOT, Mikhail, resident of Moscow (Russian): "All against all. Although there used to be one country, the Friendship of the Peoples fountain at VDNKh [Exhibition Centre]. Everyone seemed to love everyone, and then, bang, it cracked, and there was none of that."\n\nSOT, Liubov, resident of Moscow (Russian): "You know, I don't remember the date, unfortunately. I can say one thing: it was good then, it's even better now."\n\nSOT, Tatiana, resident of Moscow (Russian): "We used to all live together. We could go to all our republics. But now it is all over, you can't go anywhere in particular. I don't like the fact that the Soviet Union collapsed".\nJournalist (Russian): "Are you nostalgic?" *UPSOUND*\nTatiana, resident of Moscow (Russian): " Yes, there is a little bit. Well, life goes on."\n\nSOT, Alexei, resident of Moscow (Russian): "You know, it's difficult to assess because I was very young: five or four [years].It is very difficult to assess how it was then, but of course it is possible to assess how it is now. I guess it's definitely better now because, for one thing, we are not as isolated today as we were before. Today people have more opportunities for self-fulfillment within the country. And the different kinds of industries that exist in our country today, were, as far as I know, in Soviet times we did not have entrepreneurship as such. Today people have the opportunity to do what they love. If you compare in this context, I think it is definitely better today than it was in the Soviet Union."\n\nSOT, Alexander, resident of Moscow (Russian): "It is difficult to express my opinion, because I did not live at that time, so I have such a collective opinion, from grandparents, fathers and mothers. They, of course, say that it was better, education was better, the mood was probably good for everyone, but I think there is more freedom now. No matter what people say, I still think there is more freedom around. So when it comes to opinion, whether the USSR collapsed is good or bad, it probably did some good in the development of our country."\n\n#USSR #Russia\n\n Video ID: 20211224-057\n\n Video on Demand: https://ruptly.tv/videos/20211224-057\n Contact: cd@ruptly.tv \n\n Twitter: http://twitter.com/Ruptly\n Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Ruptly ····· 110329698

Russia: Gazprom spox rebukes accusations that company is undersupplying gas to Western Europe

Follow us on Telegram: \nhttps://t.me/s/ruptlynews\n\nSubscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe\n\nGazprom is not implicated in the energy crisis in Europe and Russia is ready to increase supplies if necessary, said Sergey Kupriyanov, official representative of the company, in Saint Petersburg on Saturday.\n\n"All the problems were created by Western Europe itself, and there is no need to place the blame on Gazprom. It’s better look in the mirror. And Gazprom has been and continues to be ready to supply additional volumes of gas within the existing contract framework, and the price of these supplies is significantly lower than on the spot," Kupriyanov stressed.\n\nHe called accusations of Russia in insufficient volumes of gas supplies to Europe ‘absolutely baseless, unacceptable and inconsistent with reality’. At the same time, the Gazprom representative stated that this year Germany has received 50.2 billion cubic metres of fuel from Russia, which is 5.3 billion cubic metres more than in 2020.\n\n"At the same time, a number of our customers, particularly from France and Germany, have already chosen all of their contractual volumes and have not sent any new supply requests. And Gazprom is booking transport capacity on the basis of existing requests, and not vice versa," Kupriyanov said.\n\nHe also called reverse deliveries of blue fuel from German underground storages to Poland "and, most probably, to Ukraine" an irrational solution due to the depletion of energy reserves, especially in the beginning of the winter.\n\nSOUNDBITES:\n\nSOT, Sergei Kupriyanov, official representative of Gazprom (Russian): "All accusations alleging that Russia and Gazprom undersupply gas to the European market are absolutely baseless, unacceptable and inconsistent with reality. They are nothing but lies. This year Gazprom contracted to supply 50.2 billion cubic metres [of gas] to Germany. That is 5.3 more than last year. Besides Germany, Gazprom has already delivered more gas than last year to Italy, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, Denmark, Finland, and Poland. At the same time, a number of our customers, particularly from France and Germany, have already chosen all of their contractual volumes and have not sent any new supply requests. And Gazprom is booking transport capacity on the basis of existing requests, and not vice versa. It should be noted that there is reportedly a reverse-flow that supplies from three to five million cubic metres of gas per day from Germany to Poland and, most probably, to Ukraine. This gas is taken from the German underground gas storage facilities. 47 percent of the gas has already been withdrawn, while the winter has just begun. It is not very rational. I do not even want to talk about the price of such reverse deliveries: these prices are much higher than the prices of the contracted volumes supplied by Gazprom. If we talk about transporting gas through Ukraine, Gazprom met all of its annual contractual obligations back on 15 December and continues to transport gas in this direction. Conclusion: all the problems were created by Western Europe itself, and there is no need to place the blame on Gazprom. It’s better look in the mirror. And Gazprom has been and continues to be ready to supply additional volumes of gas within the existing contract framework, and the price of these supplies is significantly lower than on the spot."\n\n#Gazprom #Russia #Ukraine\n\n Video ID: 20211225-037\n\n Video on Demand: https://ruptly.tv/videos/20211225-037\n Contact: cd@ruptly.tv \n\n Twitter: http://twitter.com/Ruptly\n Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Ruptly ····· 110329697

"Solidarity with flood victims" and "climate action" among highlights of 2021 - Steinmeier

für € kaufen ···· Ruptly
Follow us on Telegram: \nhttps://t.me/s/ruptlynews\n\nSubscribe to our channel! rupt.ly/subscribe\n\nFrom Germany's fight against the coronavirus pandemic to climate change, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier spoke at length about various topics in his pre-recorded Christmas address in Berlin, which was released on Saturday. \n\n---\n\nSOT, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German President (German): "When we look back at this year, we see many things that have worried us, and also many things that have scared us. We think of the terrible flood disaster in summer. We think of our soldiers who returned from Afghanistan, and also of the people who remained there in need and hunger. We are concerned about what we hear from many parts of our troubled world, especially from Eastern Europe."\n\nSOT, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German President (German): "At the same time, there was a lot this year that gives us hope: I think of the huge solidarity with the flood victims, of donations and, above all, a lot of active help. I think of the many - young and not so young - people who are committed to protecting the environment and the climate. And I think of all of you who have cast your vote in important elections, and of the manner in which democratic transition is made in mutual respect. Many people are now looking with curiosity, also with hope, for a new federal government that has big plans for our country."\n\nSOT, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German President (German): "More than ever we depend on each other - I depend on others and others on myself. Of course, there are also arguments. Of course there are uncertainties and fears and it is important to speak out about them. Nobody is prevented from doing this with us. What matters is how we talk about it - in the family, among friends, in public. We feel: after two years, frustration is spreading, irritation, alienation and unfortunately also open aggression. It's true: in a democracy we don't all have to agree. But please let us remember: We are one country! We must still be able to look each other in the eye after the pandemic. And we want to live together even after the pandemic."\n\nSOT, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German President (German): "Is freedom the loud protest against any regulation? Or doesn't freedom sometimes also mean restricting myself in order to protect the freedom of others? What does responsibility mean? Do we just say: 'Everyone has to decide for themselves'? Or does my decision not really affect many others? Freedom, trust, responsibility: we will have to come to an understanding about what that means - also in the future and on other major issues such as climate protection."\n\nSOT, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, German President (German): "Dear compatriots, It was on Christmas more than fifty years ago that people circled the moon for the first time. The elders may still remember the pictures: Up there in space, at this moment of greatest human progress, it was there that our small, vulnerable earth became visible as never before. It was from here that all progress began - and on it we all live, with our worries and hopes, with our suffering and our happiness. At that time the three astronauts of Apollo 8 read the beginning of the biblical creation story and they decided on their Christmas story Message with the words: 'God bless you all on the good earth." Dear compatriots: My wife and I wish you and us tonight that it will remain the good earth for all of us, that there will be a good future for all of us. Now, over the holidays, there will be about 800 jabs [per day]," said Jan Brunzlow, the city's spokesperson. \n\nAccording to local news, on Christmas Eve, Friday, at least 706 people received a jab at the centre; most were booster jabs.\n\n---\n\nSOT, Jan Brunzlow, Spokesperson for city of Potsdam (German): "We think the feedback was very good. We vaccinated almost 600 people today [December 24th] in Potsdam including numerous children between 5 to 11 years, which wasn't possible for such a long time. For them, Santa Claus was here with a small surprise after the vaccination. We are very happy with the [amount of] vaccinations [today] and that the offer was so well received.''\n\nSOT, Jan Brunzlow, Spokesperson for city of Potsdam (German): "We have a capacity of about 1,600 jabs per day here at the vaccination centres of the city [of Potsdam]. Now over the holidays there will be about 800 jabs [per day] and we also plan for next week on New Years Eve a vaccination event with the motto 'Boosting instead of burning fireworks'. You can book the appointments online but they are almost all gone, the people are happily taking this offer.''\n\nSOT, Jan Brunzlow, Spokesperson for city of Potsdam (German): "Especially in summer and late summer we noticed that there was a certain kind of tiredness about getting vaccinations, also here in Potsdam. Back then, this vaccination centre's capacity was at about 50% in August and September and then the vaccination centre was closed for a while. Since the beginning of December, we reopened and we see that people want to get the vaccinations, especially the booster jab and it is also the majority of people who want to get vaccinated. And this makes us confident that also the last people who have been saying 'well, I'll wait for another vaccine' or 'I don't know yet' that those are coming here now too to get vaccinated.''\n\n#Germany #Potsdam #COVID19 #coronavirus #vaccinations\n\n Video ID: 20211225-032\n\n Video on Demand: https://ruptly.tv/videos/20211225-032\n Contact: cd@ruptly.tv \n\n Twitter: http://twitter.com/Ruptly\n Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/Ruptly ····· 110329687

Colombia: Name of indigenous drink made from coca leaves upsets Coca Cola

Coca Nasa also produces coca-based beer, snacks and rum, among other products. \n\nAt the beginning of December, a Bogota law firm representing Coca Cola filed a lawsuit against Coca Nasa, asking them to drop the name Coca Pola as it could be 'confused with the trademarks' of the American company and 'may violate Colombian trademark law.' \n\n"Coca is one of the main symbols that characterise the Nasa people, it is one of the main identities, it is what has identified us ancestrally, for thousands of years as a culture and as Nasa people," Fabiola Pinacue, founder of Coca-Pola said, adding that Coca Cola lawsuit is "wrong because they came and usurped our knowledge thinking that they could deed it and that it could be theirs, well no, they were wrong because they have not come to request it, there is no trace of an express request to any community to make use of the product and much less the name."\n\n---\n\nSOT, Fabiola Pinacue, founder of Coca-Pola (Spanish): "In Bogota, I dedicate myself to the commercialisation, dissemination, promotion, popularisation, and de-demonisation of the coca leaf.
