Trace Elements Status In Hypertension Patients

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Hypertension is a complex, multifactorial, quantitative trait under polygenic control. The fundamental hemodynamic abnormality in hypertension is increased peripheral resistance, due primarily to changes in vascular structure and function. Many of these processes are influenced by trace elements. Small changes in trace elements levels may have significant effects on cardiac excitability and on vascular tone, contractility and reactivity. In studies concerning risk factors for hypertension a number of reports have emphasized the influence of lipids, but the role of dietary minerals other than sodium has been less studied. The present is to screen the trace elements and ultra trace elements in 30 male hypertension patients using ICP OES. The level of Al, Ag, Ba, Bi, Cr, Cu, Mg, Mn, Mo, Ni and Se measured in Serum found to be not significantly (P 0.05) varied when compared to control samples. The serum Zinc and cobalt conc were significantly (P 0.05) lower in patients with essential hypertension compared to normal subjects and also no correlation between trace elements status with lipid parameters, CRP and hematological parameters. ····· 10361131810

DNA Solution Structure Dynamics

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Studies on the solution structure dynamics of RNA/DNA are becoming crucially important. The phenomena of SSCP (single-strand conformation polymorphism), microRNA dynamics in a cell, and others can be related to the conformational changes of single-stranded (ss) RNAs/DNAs in solution. These molecule, which no longer forms a helix, can adopt many different conformations in solution. What are typical conformations of these molecules and what factors govern their conformational space To answer these important biological questions we need to explore the three broad areas: 1) How does the shape of DNA and its surroundings mutually influence each other Can we determine their existing relationship 2) How is the DNA sequence related to its structure Can we determine the structurally important residues based on the DNA sequence 3) How is the DNA sequence related to its function Can we determine the functionally important residues based on the DNA sequence These and similar questions which require the knowledge of accurate molecular conformations have been studied in this book in an understandable fashion and in order to gain insight into the structure dynamics of DNA in solution. ····· 10361119732

NMR chemical exchange in mapping the protein-ligand binding site

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Chemical exchange is one of the most extensively studied phenomenon in NMR spectroscopy to identify and establish the mechanism of interaction between molecules of interest (protein-ligand). While the exchange regimes are classified into three types based on the experimentally observed spectral pattern, the theory underlying all these three regimes is general. In order to delineate the mechanism of interaction through chemical exchange, mechanism dependent ligand correction and evaluation of population are necessary. For a simple system the data analysis is easier compared to the complex systems, where both the ligand correction and parameter optimization are to be performed simultaneously. This analytical difficulty has been overcome by adopting a genetic algorithm based approach for data analysis using numerical method. The computational implementation is available in the form of open source C programs: `Auto-FACE` for fast chemical exchange and `AUTOMEX` for all exchange regimes. ····· 10361119552

IMPACT OF ELECTROMAGNETIC EXPOSURE ON LIVING BEINGS. All mobile phone towers emit microwave radiations, which is in the radio frequency radiation (RFR), part of the spectrum of electromagnetic waves. Radio frequency radiation is a source of thermal energy and in adequate doses, has all the known effects of heating on biological systems. Steps must be taken to control the installations of mobile phone towers by imposing restrictions. Installation of towers should be regulated near thickly populated areas, educational institutions, hospitals etc. Sharing of towers by different companies should be encouraged, if not mandated. To prevent overlapping high radiations fields, new towers should not be permitted within a radius of one kilometer of existing towers. More must also be done to compensate individuals and communities put at risk. Insurance covering diseases related to towers, such as cancer, should be provided for free to people living in 1 km radius around the tower. Independent monitoring of radiation levels and overall health of the community and nature surrounding towers is necessary to identify hazards early. ····· 10361119416

TETRACYCLINES AND MACROMOLECULE

für 44.10€ kaufen ···· Rheinberg-Buch.de - Bücher, eBooks, DVD & Blu-ray
Tetracyclines are well known broad spectrum antibiotics, bind with macromolecules (serum albumin and DNA). The higher binding affinity of tetracyclines for macromolecules in the body is implicated in drug stability and potency with a potential risk of macromolecular damage due to intracellular accumulation of tetracyclines. Photo- oxidation of TCs produces reactive oxygen species. Reactive oxygen species not only damage the protein but also induce strand breaks in DNA. Direct binding of tetracyclines with DNA, inducing the conformational changes, and the concomitant reduction of Cu(II), involving the formation of free radicals contribute for the strand breakage. There by indicating the essential role of hydroxyl radicals in the DNA breakage in addition to the methylation at N-3 and N-7 position of purine (A&G) which resulted mismatched of the base pairs. Thus in addition to the formation of strand breaks, the methylation of DNA bases by tetracyclines is also potentially mutagenic. ····· 10361119153

The basic approach in the correction of iron and/or zinc deficiencies proceeds from an understanding that intestinal mucosa senses the body status of these mineral nutrients and remains attuned to the current body requirements. Therefore, understanding of what controls the degree of interactions and their effect on iron and zinc status during individual or combined supplementation is very important. Taking a cue from the present strategies to control iron and zinc deficiencies, this study was undertaken to establish the severity of antagonistic interactions between iron and zinc and their post absorptive effects. These studies also indicate that the risk of oxidative damage during oral iron repletion is greatly reduced in the presence of zinc. However, optimal dosage of iron and zinc to improve body status and to ward off peroxidative damage risk to the intestine during supplementation should be considered. However, such studies are essential in clinical situations to recommend the levels of iron and zinc to be used for correcting the deficiencies. ····· 10361119011

Recent evidence suggests that 18-29% of eukaryotic genomes encode enzymes. However, only a limited proportion of these enzymes have thus far been characterized, and little is understood about the physiological roles, substrate specificity and downstream targets of the vast majority of these important proteins. While advances in sequencing and molecular biology have made it feasible to quickly amass a great wealth of genetic information, sparking the genomic revolution, similar capabilities are severely lacking in the relatively nascent proteomics arena. A key step towards the biological characterization of enzymes, as well as in their adoption as drug targets, is the development of global solutions that bridge the gap in understanding proteins and their interactions. This thesis examines and addresses these challenges by introducing a series of technologies that span various analytical modes, effectively expanding current capabilities in protein profiling by leveraging on throughput. ····· 10361118449
